Before the wooden tees of today, people used to use a small heap of sand from which to hit there first shot on a hole. Does anyone still do this, is it legal to do, and if so, do people not use this method anymore because it has proven inferior? To me, it seems like a great idea for par threes where a little bit of height would be nice but a tee is unecessary

I'm a lefty playing for about a year now, for an amature does the ball really make that much differance? I've been playing pinicale gold they seem to work well for me....some balls I've found on the course or in the water seem to feel like I'm hitting a rock especialy the titelist? I see some say things like distance or straight or spin? Is it hype or what?

Can you name another professional sport where this is acceptable? Doesn't smoking a cigar during a televised golf tournament contradict sports in general?

I've tried alot, and have come to the conclusion through trial and error that it must be in my wrist. I think I am uncocking my wrist incorrectly, timing-wise. Any ideas or drills I can do to help this. Could it be that my wrist are too weak, or just not as strong as the remainder of my arms. I'm okay out of the fairway, even better out of the rough weirdly enough, but off the tee it's a rariety to go straight. And not just with my driver, even an iron off the tee tend to slice, but if it's mechanical it doesn't matter what I use.

I gave my grandson First Tee Golf clubs for his Birthday, and would like him to have lessons thru Jr. Golf. He lives in the Salt Lake, Ut. area--Tooele, Ut. We also gave my Husbands grand-daughter the same clubs for her birthday. She took First Tee-Jr. Golf lessons in Mesquite, Nev. It was GREAT... I would like him to have the same experience, and learn Golf.. Thanks, Lori

He is 7 yrs. old, and I would like him to be introduced to Golf... I live in Mesquite, Nev. and I gave him First Tee clubs for his birthday. Living so far away, I am unable to teach him. Please give me information, where he can take classes thru Jr. Golf or First Tee. My Husbands Grand-daughter took the program in Mesquite this summer, and it was GREAT. We also got her the same clubs for her Brthday. My Grandson lives in Tooele, Utah-30 miles from Salt Lake. Thank-you..... Lori

I think it could be competitive....Michelle's A Game vs Tiger's A Game and would attract a lot of media attention.
