How to neutralize incorrect handicaps in a 2 day golf tourney? A bunch of friends are going to have a Ryder Cup type event. The handicaps (most people don’t really know) came in and they are interesting. A lot of flagrant padding. Any ideas on format to counterbalance the handicaps?

Are there any serious disadvantages for a woman (golf beginner) using men's golf clubs? Advantages?

I have a friend selling his USED taylormade irons set (1999 model) and mcgregor woods 3,5, driver for US $150, so we are tempted to buy this.

My wife is learning to play golf just because her job is in sales and sometimes need to play with customers for good relations. However, she wants me to play with her sometime, so we are thinking of sharing the same set of clubs. I don't foresee us both taking this game seriously to play it regularly enough.

We know that the shaft of men's clubs is longer than women's clubs. My wife is 5'3" tall, 160 lbs. Will it severely negatively affect her golf game if she uses the taylormade men's clubs? Will she still be able to play decent golf?

The McGregor men's driver that comes with it is at 9 or 10 degrees. Will she be able to handle this?

Our other option is to buy a brand new LADIES golf set (slazenger brand) for US $250.

Thanks.

Hi, I'm 17, male, and am very much interested in the sport of Golf. However, i don't have nearly enough money to become a member at the golf course down the road. Would it be a smart idea to try and get a job there in order to acquire free playing time? If so, what would be the best way to go about it?

Thank you all Very much for your continued help with all my questions!

I am 31 and a 10 handicap. A very good short game, but don't hit the ball very far. I have started lifting weights in order to increase my distance. How much increase can I expect, and what muscles should I target?

I am 31 and a 10 handicap. Last year I replaced my 3-iron with a 7-wood. However, I am pretty inconsisten t with it. Is a hybrid club easier to hit than a 7-wood?

In matchplay, has a hole ever been halved in 1, i.e. both players 'aced' or 'holed out' with their tee shots.

Which is better to buy? Used TAYLORMADE bubble-shaft graphite irons golf club set cavity type (year 1999 model ) or a brand new complete golf club set model 2006 from non-famous brands like Slazenger (costs around $250 here in Asia)?

My wife and I are just newbies in Golf (beginners) so it will be our first golf clubs. My friend is selling me his used golf-clubs (TAYLORMADE iron set), and used McGregor woods (#3, #5) and Driver for $150. No putter included.

Is the technology jump from 1999 to the present (2006) significant in terms of golf clubs? Are we better off getting the older 1999 TAYLORMADE golf clubs? The clubs seem to be in good shape except for the handle/grips which are kinda faded.

I am inclinced towards the branded Taylormade but my wife likes the SHINY, scratchess brand new ones. :) Obviously, we don't intend to spend a lot since we are not yet sure how seriously we will play this game.

Thanks.
