Jack Nicklaus has the best all time record. However, the competition is tougher today. Woods has it much harder as so many great players around the world are after the big money. Other greats are Hogan (my personal favorite), Palmer, Hagen and Snead. Several are ahead right but Woods will catch them. Has six to go in majors and about 35 in tournaments one. Many forget that Nicklaus had more second place finishes in majors than he had victories (18) which is incredible to be at the top or near for so long. But Tiger will have passed them all by the time he is forty, he is simply the best there ever was. All of this barring injury. I recall seeing Tiger on the Carson show when he was not yet five years old, even then he was rather sound in his swing. But the biggest thing about Tiger is he mental approach.

Tiger a "cry baby"? How dense can you be? He lost his father. Maybe you are too immature to understand. Tiger is no cry baby, he would have you bawling by the third hole.

Tiger Woods is the Greatest golfer to ever set foot on this planet! There is no need to even argue or debate this...lol. Jack Nicklaus was the best golf we had ever known until Tiger came along. Even if Tiger were to give up the game today, he would still be the greatest golfer ever, regardless of whether he broke all of Jack's records. No has ever accomplished what Tiger has or in the fashion he has done it in such a short time or with complete dominance.

Tiger Wood and it is no contest. Lots of different golfers from many different eras were great but on a per tournament, average stroke, percentage win and pure ability none come close to tiger woods. Even at age 30 it is hard to deny his greatness . Tiger surpassed Greg Norman's record total as the number one ranked player in the world after the 2004 PGA Championship. Tiger held the World Number 1 position for a total of 334 weeks. Despite an abbreviated schedule due to the death of his father he has won 7 of the 14 events he ahas entered (4 in a row and counting). He has 53 career victories behind Snead's 81 and Nicklaus's 73 he has 12 majors 2nd all time and closing in on Jack's 18. Nobody is even close. But he's only 30 years old and if he stays healthy he will set records that no mortal man will ever beat.

Bobby Jones, the only golfer ever to win the Grand Slam of Golf, winning all 4 majors in the same year.

At this point you gotta give it to Jack based on wins, top 5's, etc. But, assuming that Tiger can keep up pace (or even close to what he's already done), when it is all said and done, i think there will be little or no argument that Tiger is the best of all time.

Moe Norman.
The problem was that Moe was the "Rain man" of golf.
He was a savant. Didn't know how to get to a course or dress himself, but he could hit a ball better than anyone who ever lived. He has been written up in several golf magazines and acknowledged by the best players as the best ball striker ever.

He passed away recently.

No Moe

Based on pure talent I would say either bobby Jones, Walter Hagen, or this dude from Canada who I can't think of(he is about 80 now). If either of these guys worked on their games like Vijay Singh does then they could have been as great as Tiger, or Jacky N.
Oh and we can't forget about Michelle Wie or even Anika Sorenstam(the jury's still out on her, I'm not sure she is as good as I thought she was a few years ago.) But Michelle Wie will be awesome 10 years from now if she stays dedicated. She may even win a PGA event sometime in her career. Which in my opinion would be a greater feat than a Grand Slam.

Wow I just googled the guy and found out that he just died. RIP... Moe Norman
