It has been speculated that China will soon have a national cricket team:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket/3419585.stm
From the current trends they have the chance to be the best. Heres one explanation: Cricket is played with a hard ball, and it really hurts. West Indies were the the champs of the yesteryears. This is becuase they were bowling real fast. However, on the flip side they had a disadvantage. They had large reproductive organs, so when the other cricket teams like Pakistan or Australia also started bowling fast it really hurt them bad..both batsman and bowlers. Now the Chinese are industrious plus have the advantage of having small reproductive organs. Hence, they will be exposed to less pain when the hard ball hits them in the groin. Thus by this logic they can become world champions. Would you all agree to this point of view? In case any of you have other intresing hypotheis I would be obliged if you could mention them here.
Thanks

it's pretty sad really. india = 1 billion people. australia = 20 million people. i mean, i guess you can say australia is richer, but they are probably one of the nations that compared to population of country do exceedingly well in sports, and lets face it, indian cricket players get paid tons. australia is about 10 levels higher than india and with a MUCH MUCH MUCH smaller population in cricket. its also really sad how india sucks at all sports and theyre not even that great at cricket which is the only sport they have any hope in. its sad how they obsessively follow the tennis player sania mirza and every small tournament she plays because at 30 (sad) shes the highest ranked player in india. australia gives a lot more attention and excels at other sports as well. they seem to have the "good at sports" gene while india is the compete opposite.

I was thinking about this the day I saw Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and who ever that has been involved in the BALCO thing about HGH, anabolic steroids and all that good stuff, then I noticed Mathew Hayden, Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer and thought to myself hmmm....they all seem to be suffering the same size issues they are all bloated since they started in cricket and look super fit not fat like Indian cricketers do once they get old...and also they were never great when they started...no one ever expected Ponting to go bezerk nor did anyone expect Hayden to be who he became...I think will we need to get rid of Malcolm Speed (he who doth protect the Juice of the Ozzies) before this can ever be tested...I feel they Aussies are a super power under Ponting sheerily due to being on the JUICE...I believe that was not the case in the Waugh days...but I think Ponting and his punters are just plain ol cheats...

so in the papers and all, the men get way more recognition than the women. in countries like india there are whole pages on mens cricket but basically nothing on womens. when you play in leagues, sometimes women/girls who want to play have to play on all men/boy teams because there arent enough girls to form a girls team. what do you think of this; do you think girls are weird to want to play the game/ is it unnatural? and can anyone name good women players? i am asking this because my friend is in charge of a cricket academy in england, and is wondering if it is worth advertising to girls as well to join.
