Kevin Peterson, yes............
saving the country of a defeat is a Heroic thing.
nobody can deny it.
he was adjudicated the best test batter .................................few months ago by ICC Rankings.
so.......he is a hero,
if this done by Ausie or Indian .....
everybody would jump to call him a............HERO........

no bc, He did not lead England for a victory but, a tie game.

A batting hero is someone who chases the target score & wins a test match or ODI....

Overall, Kevin Peterson is not an English hero but, an English man that made India go higher in points & maybe over Sri Lanka.

IWhile he is a very good batsman, he is totally unpredictable and inconsistent. Hence he cannot be considered as a batting hero of contemporary test cricket.

well he is a hero for sure....
but u cant call him Batting Hero of contemporary TEST cricket...
he has done well in some of the tests..but then that dint do ENG a hell lot of Gud except the Ashes Series win one year back....
As for me Lara can be called the Batting Hero of contemporary TEST cricket

He was one of the contenders for the man of the series.But he does not stay long enough befitting his capability. Satisfied with centuries so far.
More suited to the ODIs.

He is one of the best. But there are few other players like Mahela, Ponting, Sangakkara, Kallis, Tendulkar.
