Well yet again, the veterans showed why they have their spot in the team, and why they should be there for years to come. They still perform at a high level, therefore should still be selected for test. Age is just a number, yet people now days have bought into the media hype that once a player goes over 30 he's over the hill. Thats rediculous, so now that the 3 performed in the 1st day of the test....what ydo you critics say now?

This is based on the recent column from Jeff Boycott,"STRAIGHT DRIVE", 08 Aug 07. In this he condemns the behaviour of Alister Cook and Sreesanth for being such loud mouths on the field and what he said was true. Yet after having said so he kept sledging at the Indian team through the whole article. At the same time he justifys the similar behavior of Vaughan against the Aussies.
Another thing how come these same people tend to be Mute when the Aussies do such a thing. A Debutant Aussie has the arrogance to loud mouth a senior player of the opposition.
Is it the irony of Indian cricket or is it another mind game that is being played to disturb the emmerging and staballising team..that has gone through enough in the recent past.
Specially the last statement made me very sad and i loose my respect for Boycott.... "We've had a surprising weeklong bout of sunshine here, and all that the Indians need to capitalise on the conditions is to use their brains, not mouths. (Gameplan)"

I definitely think they should have this as a pretence to a World Cup for Test Match Cricket. Between all the champions teams from each individual test match nations. With four coming from countries who are not fully fegded test match countries.

I still think they should have a World Cup for Test Match Cricket. One day cricket isn't the same.

Yes it will take long but if they schedule 14 weeks for this tournament then there is no reason why it shouldn't take place.

It is just a lack of skills that prevents them from doing this. They said the Olympics could never be a financial success and look at them now thanks in part to American know how.

One of only two players ever to be banned for proved ball tampering. In November 2006 was banned for 2 years for testing positive for performance enhancing drugs. 1 month later, Pakistan Cricket Board drop the ban. Three years previously he was arrested and illegal performance enhancing drugs removed from his home. No charges brought. Inzman el Haq, Pakistan captain and team mate, said he suspected Akhtar of using drugs. Nothing done.

No other National sporting body in any sport worldwide would allow this to happen. Only the Pakistan Cricket Board. Their attitude is who cares if we let cheats play, as long as we win. This in a world where all governing bodies are determined and working together to make cheats pay. But not the PCB

Should he be allowed to play in the world cup?
