Well yet again, the veterans showed why they have their spot in the team, and why they should be there for years to come. They still perform at a high level, therefore should still be selected for test. Age is just a number, yet people now days have bought into the media hype that once a player goes over 30 he's over the hill. Thats rediculous, so now that the 3 performed in the 1st day of the test....what ydo you critics say now?

I don't know how far or how deep you watch cricket. It is a known fact that the cricket pitch at the oval will assist the batsmen a lot and it was a good toss for Dravid to win for his side. Vaughan must be really ruing the loss of the toss and consequently first use of the wicket. The greats of the Indian team(Dravid, Sachin, Sourav, Laxman followed by Kaarthik, Jaffer and Dhoni are expected to score heavily and that;s exactly what they are doing. Yes to a degree I agree with you; the seniors do have a commitment level which si really high and that's an example for the youngsters to emulate and carr forward in the coming years after the foursome have retired from all forms of cricket.

Yes I agree. If they perform well, they should continue. But if you play for your country until age of 38 or 40, then chances of the younger players will be lost. That is the problem. Therefore they must retire right time.

Ya these senior players have a lot of stuff within them...They are used to face the critics made by the media and the public...Yet they respond only through their performances...And it is the best quality of best players in the world.....

The problem is that they are not the best... and if you are not the best you try to develop young talent... Tendulkar needs to be replaced some day and there is no one in sight for that. Dravid is fantastic... and ganguly is solid as well

Yes they can still continue in tests till they can perform. In ODIs Rahul can continue as captain while Sachin and Ganguly should think if they are fit enough.

I fully agree with you. A player should be retained as long as he can perform well.
