Yesterday, I saw the movie "The Queen" with Helen Mirren. It really gave me a whole new respect for the Queen. After all, it's not as if she asked for the job and she has really tried to do it to the best of her abilities. However, no matter what she does or doesn't do, there's always someone who disapproves. That being said, though, I have to also say that I'm an American and that I can't imagine what it must be like to live in a country with hereditary titles. After all, we have presidential elections every four years. Do you think that the Queen and the other Royals earn their keep or do you think that Britain would be better off without them?

i did because she fooled around with 5 guys while married, whinned for stupid reasons and was an idiot, she was soo immature and she ruined herself, if she wasn't so stupid , maybe the royal family would have liked her better and if she knew how to please a man, charles wouldn't have cheated on her with camilla

At school we were told that the ultimate function and purpose of the monarchy was to prevent some petty little political upstart or would-be dictator from seizing power. History shows this to be a largely ineffectual safeguard - witness the ease with which that bunch of self-confessed crooks and accomplished halfwits who run the EU have taken over 'Great' Britain, without the slightest sign of action by the queen to prevent it!
