I imagine she keeps small necessities in it, just as most women do. Today's dresses rarely have enough pockets. I have no idea how men manage to tote around all their stuff. I just wish the Queen's handbags were more attractive. Their sharp angles make them look like relics from the 1950s. Today's fashionable purses with their metal buckles, chains, extra straps, etc. are no better, but surely some designer could come up with a nicer, less conspicuous purse for her. In particular, I'd like to see the carrying strap designed so the purse would be more against her side rather than halfway in front.

Probably a bit of "make-up" for touch-up; a handkerchief, some money (esp. when she is shopping in Braemar or Ballater). And I guess the usual things a woman would carry as "essentials".
Of course she does NOT carry a Passport as she does not have nor need one.

A comb,a handkerchief, a small gold compact and a lipstick. On Sundays' , also a note of unknown denomination for the collection plate in church.
