Is it just another great philosophical book or is it the inherent word of God that is the foundation of life itself? We have become a society that does not believe in absolute truth. Is bible absolutey true or is not? Share your views.

A family member of mine is getting married in the Mormon Temple in Chicago. Aparently, we cannot watch the ceremony, but can wait in a waiting room before and after the ceremony because we are not mormons. Why is this, what are they hiding and shouldn't we be allowed to see whats going on? I guess this is why the whole sect is shrouded in misunderstanding and confusion.

I had this dream three times. I know that in the Bible when you have a dream more than twice, it means it is sigfincant. But anyway, in the first dream, I saw myself at my fathers house. While there, I was deeply filled with grief while playing a video game. Then I saw myself strugglings with strong holds. Before I knew it, the I saw the sun arise in a window. When it arouse, I felt burdens being released, as well as peace and strength. The next dream I had, I was on a bike running away from darkness and again I felt this heavy burden. Then I turned this corner while riding the bike and ended up behide this house. When I got there, the sun rose up in the sky and once again I fel burdens being lifted and I felt strong. The last dream I had, I was sleep with my wife, whom I have yet to meet because I'm still a teen. Suddenly I got up from the bed to look out the window. The sun arose once again and I felt strength coming into my body as well as burdens being released.

Obviously, religions have a long history of violence and atrocities.
Are such tragedies as 9/11 inevitable, especially with religions who consider themselves to be the "one true" religion?

It is said in the Bible that: the Word was made flesh.

1. Isnt there a diff. between the Word of God and God Himself?

2. Doesnt this mean that the Word of God, meaning, the scripture, was given to Jesus to act on? Since Jesus could not have become the Word unless he knew what the Word was.

According to scripture, Jesus died, was placed in a tomb, and was resurrected three days later. Good Friday is the accepted day that marks the crucifixion of Jesus. However, if he was crucified on a Friday, and most experts concur that he died in the evening ... then his resurrection wouldn't have taken place until Monday evening, not Sunday morning, in order for him to spend three full days inside the tomb.

So, to celebrate these nationalized holidays is to deny your own scriptural beliefs. So, are these celebrations really about the resurrection of your savior? Or just an excuse to have a long weekend off from work?

Anytime a Jehovah Witness is questioned about their religion, many will state almost in a robotic or programmed manner, that they have no paid clergy, donations are not required, and there are no higher positions in their religion.

These things are stated to convince others that everyone in their religion is equal, and sincere.

Though it may be true these things are not written or spoken of as REQUIRED, it is a known fact, that when you have control of someone's mind, they will offer and give these things freely without being asked.

For instance, a man who prostitutes his girlfriend, often does not begin by telling her to go on the street, sell herself, put him in control, and give him all her money. However, his mental control and brainwashing of her causes the woman to do so by what she THINKS is "free will".

1. Why do the Sunnis think that Abu Bakr was right to become leader after Muhammad?
2. Why do the Shias think that Ali should've become leader after Muhammad and not Abu Bakr?

For some reason I Keep thinking that if your a Christian then Satan and his demons are supposed to keep away from you because of relationship with Jesus.

I know that Jesus was tempted by the devil in the desert- but I am pretty sure that is because Jesus was getting thirsty and the devil wanted to tempt Him.

i was rash, abruptly quitting my job after a week due to personal issues. was negative the whole time i was there, forgetting that God has given me this job for a purpose.

i regret it that i wasn't able to show that I am a bigger person, a Christian that is strong. instead i showed my immaturity.

Please help me pray to God. That these people will not harbor bad feelings towards me and willing to accept me back.

Or if I can get a new job according to God's plan.

thank you very much. I really appreciate it.

in Christ,
Diana

Right now I'm at a confused time, and I'm only in high school. Well basically, this whole disbelief sprouted when I had constantly heard talks of evolution and what not. Then I remember hearing more and more things about the flaws of God and his existence, I even heard there was a movie, that an Atheist had made a movie, that makes the proof of God even more doubtful. Then, I started to think to myself for a while, what if there is in fact no God? How come prayers from me or from anyone else never get answered? How come whenever I sin, nothing happens? Why doesn't God punish us? When all these questions came to mind, just recently, I've started to sin, a lot more than usual. Nothing too bad, just sinning, stuff like stealing , but when I do it, in my mind I say sorry to God, but I don't really think I mean it. Please, if you have any kind of facts of his existence that'll help me believe in God a little more or anything that'll help me, it's appreciated. I don't not want to believe in

Someday the religions of today will become mythology like what the greeks and Romans believed. I see people that believe in a religon as very narrow minded. You bible beaters continuoulsy say to read the bible. I say to you study the history of religions and then tell me if you religion still holds water. If you look at the history of religion in the world, you will see that your religions someday will be replaced.

The last few decades, Jehovah Witnesses and Non-Witnesses, have claimed to have discovered and verified Satanic Subliminal Images and recordings in magazines, books, and embedded on cd's etc. by the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society?

Have Jehovah Witnesses made a final statement about the above, or has the issued not been addressed? Below are a few links among many on the internet which discuss this issue.

At first I thought it was possibly an infiltration within their group, but this has supposedly been discovered off and on over the years for decades. Surely, some type of solution would have been put in place to avoid this if it were not intentional. So I'd like to hear from others.

Hello, yesterday at a worship service in a house a motorcycle zoomed by (shockingly, it's just a tiny lane) and in walks a spirit/vision in the manner and dress and looks of my former tutor teacher turned dear friend whom I am not to have anything to do with anymore b/c we were getting too attached to each other. When we had to cease being friends he told me, "my body may be far but my spirit will be near". The 'spirit' walked in, smiled and greeted in the traditional Thai style (I'm in Thailand).
I have had this spirit visit before and concluded it was his guardian angel.
Today, I was riding on the back of a motorcycle, passed by the guy's rooming house and saw him; he was walking the same way as last night, smiled the same way and did the Thai greeting the same way and was even dressed the same way...all i recall both times was a white t shirt.
SO what do you make of this? BTW, for God-fearers (like me) I had asked, "no evil spirits allowed in" before going; and it joined us.
