A man finally goes with his wife to church, after promising her for weeks that he'd go. Surprisingly, the man was so impressed with the preacher's sermon he stopped on the way out to shake his hand.

"Preacher, I'll tell you, that was a DAMN fine sermon."

The preacher says, "Why thank you sir, but we don't used profanity in the house of the Lord."

The man says, "But preacher, seriously, I'm not a religious man, but that was the best DAMNED sermon I ever heard."

The preacher says again, "Sir, while I appreciate what you're trying to say, I must be blunt: DO NOT use curse words in the Lord's house again."

The man says, "Well, anyway, I was so impressed with your sermon that I placed $5000 dollars in the collection plate".

"No ****?" says the Preacher.

I often wonder. Surely there will come a time when my fellow pirates will take over the religious world (and reduce global warming in the process). Maybe we can then live in peace and prosperity, and all be touched by his noodly appendage.

and I mean someone not connected to your current life at all. If you have, has it made you wonder about the how delicate our perspective of reality is? If you can completely forget about everything you know for a few minutes what does that mean? I suppose it is arguable the dream must be from my memories and hence connected. Just curious on some other thoughts on the subject.

real religion is sevice to God by serving his children...
to do that , you require no churches , no priests , no clergy , no sacred books ... unless
they implant in your heart the desire to serve , and make you love the children of God more than you loved them before,
serve whenever you can . help to lift your brothers load
That is religion

I was watching the show 30 Days about a Christian living in a Islamic society, I listened to the agument of a Islam teacher about how God cannot die. I am trying to understand how it is not a contradiction for Jesus, who was god in flesh and spirit, to actually die in the flesh. I understand that he was resurrected(body and spirit) but it still means he was dead for a period of time. So did God or part of what is God actually die?

Muhammad produced no miracles and when pressed he claimed that his miracle is the Quran. Yet a cursory look at the Quran reveals that this book is full of errors. Quran is replete with scientific heresies, historic blunders, mathematical mistakes, logical absurdities, grammatical errors and ethical fallacies. It is badly compiled and it contradicts itself. There is nothing intelligent in this book let alone miraculous. Muhammad challenged people to produce a “Surah like it” or find an error therein, yet Muslims would kill anyone who dares to criticize it. In such a climate of hypocrisy and violence truth is the first casualty.

One who claims to be a messenger of God is expected to live a saintly life. He must not be given to lust, he must not be a sexual pervert, and he must not be a rapist, a highway robber, a war criminal, a mass murderer or an assassin. One who claims to be a messenger of God must have a superior character. He must stand above the vices of the people of his time. Yet Muhammad’s life is that of a gangster godfather. He raided merchant caravans, looted innocent people, massacred entire male populations and enslaved the women and children. He raped the women captured in war after killing their husbands and told his followers that it is okay to have sex with their captives and their “right hand possessions” (Quran 33:50) He assassinated those who criticized him and executed them when he came to power and became de facto despot of Arabia. Muhammad was bereft of human compassion. He was an obsessed man with his dreams of grandiosity and could not forgive those who stood in his way. Muhammad was a narcissist like Hitler, Saddam or Stalin. He was astute and knew how to manipulate people, but his emotional intelligence was less evolved than that of a 6-year-old child. He simply could not feel the pain of others. He brutally massacred thousands of innocent people and pillaged their wealth. His ambitions were big and as a narcissist he honestly believed he is entitled to do as he pleased and commit all sorts of crimes and his evil deeds are justified.

The language of Hinduism is Sanskirt
The language of Islam is Arabic.
The language of Judaism is Hebrew.
What is the language of Christianity? Oh, and when I say Christianity, I don't just mean Catholicism, or just mean Orthodox Christianity, or Protestant christianity. I am talking the language for all of Christendom, for all types of Christianity.

If you switched places with a person, you would have their thoughts, their ideas, their memories, as all that is in the brain...and, you would do everything that person would do down to the last blink, right? But YOU would be them....what is that perspective part of you that makes a you, you? What sperates you from someone else? Is their an answer for that? Is it a soul, and if you think your soul is YOU, then what makes your soul, yours? If some people didn't have it, could you even tell?

What do you think?
