I could say yes because I have Great Faith in God

Job was one of the most blessed and loved men in the Bible,
People believe that because job suffered so much that it was because he had done something wrong. This is not the case .

God knew that job was a righteous man.
Job was chosen to set an example to man that the devil will attack the children "sons and daughters " of God but it also shows that through commitment and trust God will see us through.
He may allow bad things to happen to us, but just like job ,as sons/daughters after the storm is calmed we walk away with more than we started with. Job's family and life was returned to him sevenfold. Our true reward is to be in the presence of God someday.

YES< to your question.

Yes, I have read the book of Job and I know what happens. If it ever happened to me, I guess I would just have to deal with it and handle it, I wouldn't have much of a choice in the matter. But, with God we can over come anything as long as we put our whole faith and trust in Him.

Kerilyn,

Today in Sunday School, we talked about God's purpose in suffering. In fact, Job was one of the bible figures that we talked about. We talked about how God allows suffering to show to us that in spite of what we go through on a day to day basis, even though we may not understand the reason, God shows us that his Grace is sufficient, and that in our weakness he makes us stronger if we just place our trust in him. We all have things that we go through to keep us humble, and to keep us reliant on God, and not on ourselves. I know that sometimes it is hard to imagine that I could stand under the pressure that Job went through, but I thank God for his grace, and love that he is faithful and true to be there for me whenever I call on him for help.

If you really think about it, that story could not have really happened. It was a parable, just like the good Samaritan, or the other 39 parables in the bible. God trying to prove something to Satan? Or having a contest with him? It would not happen.

Funny how Job gets rewarded in the end of the story but nothing is said for the members of his family that God killed in his wager with Satan.

What choice did he have? To cuss God and die, which is what his wife told him to do, was not really a viable choice.

In fact, if it happened to you, what choice would you have? Suicide. Not really, only mentally deranged people commit suicide.

We spend our entire lives trying to avoid pain, but when it comes we usually choose pain (or a pain killer) rather than death.

Well, I didn't really answer your question. But, I hope I gave you a different perspective on the issue.

I'd liked to say that I would be like Job and be faithful to God but I really don't know how I would react

I try to take things as they come and find the positive side of everything. If all you can see is the shadow then you have your back to the sun,

I would hate to have to go through something half as bad as Job went through.
