Is this unusual?

I mean, I still lean back on the couch, and I can fall asleep on it in a single episode of neighbours , but still....I find myself enjoying sitting on the floor.

And do you think this is right? I think we NEED to stop this! I mean why should they make millions just to be in a movie or play the sport they love? Don't get me wrong I love to watch movies but the amount is still not right! They would do just fine to make 200,000/movie or a game. I mean I only make $25,000/year and my husband makes $30,000 and we have a child to raise, but we manage. Of course I don't go buy $2,000 shoes or handbags!! I feel this is really a problem in our society and what can we do to make them realize they are out of control? What can we do to stop this? Or do you think it is okay? Thank you for your opinions!

I live in the US and here when they work on a road it takes half a decade to finish then the road starts to fall apart within a few years. In the UK or Europe in general, how long does a road project last and does the road immediately start to fall apart after it is finished?

a 20yrs old girl i knew breifly hates me because i told her to go back to school and get a job after she had a baby. (the baby was older than 2yrs) the man treats her like crap and tells all his coworkers and "friends" (noone likes him) bad things about her but she cant see it. how am i worng in telling her to be progressive?

I was reading a Civil War book and came across a very interesting quote from Lincoln.
" If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, i would do it; If I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; And if i could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also do that ."
Is this a historical quote overlooked by Historians or was I always made to believe that Lincoln 's biggest mission in the war was to make sure all slavery was abolished? Any thoughts?

My husband had said that we were going to the garden to pick vegetables. Instead, we went to town shopping. I was wearing one of my favorite blouses which had been very expensive but since I had worn it so much, it was fit only for things like gardening, camping, or art activities where I didn't care what happened to it. It will be discarded when fall comes.

I decided that clothes do not make the man and to adopt these attitudes: (1) Be proud. Keep my head up, like I owned the world. In the meantime, hope I didn't see anyone I knew. (2) If worse came to worse, either be blase' and innocent about it, or adopt that honesty is the best policy and blame my husband! You would not believe how many times I have to help him with his pet projects.

being that most words are made up by man does using profane words mean we are actaully committing a sin? if so which sin are we committing? often times we say someone is cursing, but if we were cursing a person wouldn't that mean we were actually casting a spell on that individual to do them harm? what do you all think?

A lot of internal segregation has been occuring during the past decades: religious segregation, race segregation, chauvinist segregation, political segretation. And now -according to press note just released by Reuters- according to a study by the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore released in the Epidemiologic Reviews Magazine, by 2015 officially the USA will be a country of fat people, with 75% of the adults in above their required weight and 41% being diagnosed as obesed. So I was thinking to change its name from United States of America to Fat States of America. :D
