Everybody has typos. That is normal.
And for many here, English is not their native.
But there are times when you really think if the person posting is doing it on purpose.
Trying to write properly does not mean you will lose something. Not even time.

Some people just can't spell very well. Anyone with Attention Deficit Disorder is a bad speller. I am. But I am a lot better than I use to be. What is really funny is some people call me up to ask how to spell words; because I am better than them.
This spell check has fixed seven of my words. Some don't even know when they have miss spelled a word. Appreciate all that you have and realize that we are not all alike.

All it takes is a click on the "check spelling" button and/or a once over proofread.
I am guilty of criticizing others, but then again, I love English.
That being said, it is a kind of power thing in society--yet another way for people to get the upper hand on others.
English is a difficult language derived from many sources. That's why spelling is so hard.
Compromise and use the spelling button; it'll catch most of your errors.

When you are asking a serious question and not talking to your stupid friends via messenger or text message, you should take the extra 10 seconds to make sure you spelled everything correctly. I hire people and if I see ONE spelling or grammatical error in their resume, I throw it right into the garbage can.

I agree -
We also need to remember that we don't know what country they're from. We could be talking to a 10 year old from Germany who uses English as a second language.
Other cases though, I've seen some that were obviously being done on purpose. So somebody writes "learn how to spell" and they get 2 points.

There's a check spelling button on top of the box and it doesn't take even a minute to have a spell check.
Not checking your spelling is an indicator that you're lazy and ignorant.

It is very depressing to see the ignorance and the apathy. I don't want to believe that people in general are not very smart, and seeing all these errors reminds me that our education system is in a sad state. Why don't people want to spell words correctly? Don't they know that it makes them look unintelligent? ...that it hampers communication? ...that it reflects poorly on them in so many ways? It's so sad.

Personal insecurities. You know how it is when we see something that someone else misses and we feel better about ourselves for catching it. Our self esteem gets a stupid boost when we think that we are better than the next person. They don't realize that most of us get a negative opinion of them when they criticize someone else for something that could happen to anyone including them! They are the one's who lose cool points for unnecessisarily pointing out the mistakes of others. It is okay to correct someone if you honestly think that you are helping them and that they don't know any better. But if you're doing it because you know the right answer and they're going to look dumb when you tell them they're wrong then you're the butt-hole!
