I had a chance encounter with a young man from Bahgdad online, I think it was Yahoo Answers. We have been communicating via IM for months. Our conversations are interesting, cool, intense and VERY sad. He tells me how it really is there right now. I tell him how I really feel about, and percieve, the stupid and terrible war in Iraq. It is just very cool that a Grandma in Virginia, USA can become a friend & confidante with a young man in a country with which we are at war.
So my question is... Can, maybe the internet actually change the world for the better? I think so!

I just her'd, an Anti-smoking org.// wants Movies to carry a "R", rating, when people r shown, SMOKING !!!! So, let me get this straight, We as Americans, want, "Gays", to "COME", out of the closet & they want to put Smokers , in the closet ?!?!?!?!?!?! It is silly to make movie's w/smoker's, rated R...!!!! And , yes, I smoke. Proudly !!!!sorry-kiddo's..........

Here's a scam email I received two copies of at one time. Looks like I'm a millionaire! I know it's a scam but Dr. Ezeh is kind of funny. (Wonder where he got his PhD.)

I read with stupefaction that at a Child Care Center from Romania two girls who remained pregnant with their 17 years old boyfriends and the journalist said that happily in the case of those two girls they had intervention quickly and obliged them to make abortion.
What bothered me was that the jornalist said happily,in his opinion those doctors had right to oblige those girls to make abortion only because they were underaged.

What do you think,wasn't that a criminal act?Or at least imoral?

My husband & I are quite open when talking to my in-laws about money. We feel we do quite well financially and are proud of our accomplishments. The problem is my in-laws. When we feel we cannot afford something we get a lecture I like to call "Why do you have negative wealth, shame on you for not saving more!" But if we accomplish a financial goal, we get the "Money isn't everything" speech. What is it about this generation and money?? BTW the in-laws are well into their 60's and very well off and they always open the money discussions.
