I am a disabled Army vet with schizophrenia. I live in Louisville, kentucky and have mixed thoughts about this war. I am not poor, nor rich. I believe in equal rights, and democracy and freedom. It just seams here in Louisville there is a strong presence of neocon republicans who have a strict agenda. This city is either one extreme or the other. Either your a religious extremist, or your a dope dealing street thug. Inbetween is hard to find. Which city would I best fit into?

This upsets me so bad im a single mom in my late twenties. I'm struggling to make it, I don't have alot of money to spend on being glamorous. so sometimes I don't always have the best clothes or look my best when I go out. However i'm always neat and clean. Whenever we go to do anything just general everyday business. I see white people starring, or snarling their nose up at me and my daughter for no apparent reason. When I go into certain shops they give me a hard time the minute I walk in the door treat me like sh.........t! When a white person comes in they treat them like royalty. Or whenever a black person talk's to them. They alway's say excuse me what?....like we're stupid. In my opinion a lot of white people tend to be very judgemental of black's. The shock of my life, call it culture shock perhaps because im not usually accustomed to partying. Some people snuck alcohol in, girls were dirty dancing (as in close and quite provocative). I talked to some people and they said it was normal for college people to be like that.

Many are my friends, and i wonder whether they should be, or whether its just me. Girls (friends) were coming on to me, even those that thought were particularly reserved in class. Call me old fashioned but i dont know how i could get into a relationship if this is how they are for example. I keep worrying, is how they are and what they did there a representation of what they are really like on the inside?

I'm very naive, still. There is the headlined question about job stress, and evil co-workers.
Gee, I really thought that people who do that kind of thing are evil, and somewhat rare.
But it seems like so many people go through these things, that we Americans are a bunch of uncouth folk,
and very often, unintentionally.
Any thoughts as to how we can overcome this as a society?
Or whether this is as good as it gets, and we will always be asking these quesitons?

why do i get so much crap for dating a white guy? and for some reason i get most of the crap for black guys, when they are the ones who date outside of their race more than anyone else, and when i say well u date white girls they tell me that that is different how is it different. And then they will say that i am too fine and pretty to date a white boy???

not all black guys do that, but i just want to know what's up with this!
