Thinking under pressure?

Do you think being under pressure (from any type or source) affects the rate, speed, effectiveness, etc, at which someone thinks? If so, how?

I believe it causes many answers to the pressure to enter the mind. Good decisions should never be made under pressure without you hold a pressured job and quick decisions are an every day occurrence.
