This upsets me so bad im a single mom in my late twenties. I'm struggling to make it, I don't have alot of money to spend on being glamorous. so sometimes I don't always have the best clothes or look my best when I go out. However i'm always neat and clean. Whenever we go to do anything just general everyday business. I see white people starring, or snarling their nose up at me and my daughter for no apparent reason. When I go into certain shops they give me a hard time the minute I walk in the door treat me like sh.........t! When a white person comes in they treat them like royalty. Or whenever a black person talk's to them. They alway's say excuse me what?....like we're stupid. In my opinion a lot of white people tend to be very judgemental of black's. They constantly bragg about how there life is so great & how close to perfection they are. Yet, I find many of them can be

be very ignorant not say excuse me or thank you. In my opinion they do not respect black people & they never will. I used to live in a all white neighborhood and they called my daughter blacky. So i'm wrong for wanting my daughter to not have to go to inner city schools. Or wanting to move out of the ghetto. I didnt want my daughter to know this. But these negative experiences have made me sort of not like white people. Or it makes me think all white people are like this that fall in the category of They're the ones who treat us this way.

To the last person who commented I need to get a grip!!!..... So, I have to pay for what other blacks do. I'm not like that. That's like me sayin I can treat you like sh..t because of the slavery. Thank you for proving my point you, have child care & all of the same things I do. Were both doing the same things so why some of ya'll. Have to look down on us & act like you dont have to wait in line or say excuse me. We are all striving for the same goals. I didnt say all of them. However from living in two different environments majority rules. Reply to the last comment you sound like one that does.

You're going to have to stay strong. Reality is people who act like that are not going to change. They think they're superior to anybody who doesn't have the same fancy things they have. My mom was a single mom and she raised my brother and I and growing up we were poorer than all the other kids. Poorer than all the other white kids, that is. But I didn't make that lower my self esteem. I had a goal and I chose to achieve it. I was going to move out of that neighborhood when I was 18 and go to college and try to become an engineer. All you can do is teach your daughter while she is young to ignore all the negative people around her and follow her dreams regardless of what they think or don't think she can do. I wish you the best of luck and remember to hang in there.

Please don't think all white people are this way. I understand how you feel, I have a hearing impairment and have been treated the same way. People ignore me and dont take time to explain things to me what they are talking about and I'm sure they probably talk behind my back just because they can.

You cannot classify how a whole race behaves just because you don't like the way some of them treat you. I say you should ignore them and maybe even look at it as a compliment. Maybe deep down they are afraid that you are going to be in competition for them for a job or something like them. So they may be jealous and show it by being rude to you. If you let it get to you then you are giving them the satisfaction. Usually these type of ignorant people have a low self esteem, thats why they try to put others down.

I'm sorry to hear you are treated like this, it's not fair. Something is wrong with these people. I don't know why they are so.
