Say someone's ignoring you, so you ignore them back - in other words, give them the silent treatment. Is this the best thing to do? Or is there a more effective (and possibly more simple) method?
Does the concept of karma ring true? Do we *really* have to give what we get?
I believe that it is true for certain situations. However, some people still treat others with respect no matter what, even if they're treated badly by those particular individuals. A good example of this is Jane Eyre.
I try to treat everyone with the same amount of respect, but there are certain people you sometimes have to exclude. (This is just my opinion formed from experience - nobody has to agree with me =))

(Bear in mind that I am a cynic - even though I'd like to believe the majority of people are as nice as certain individuals [e.g. my boyfriend, who is literally THE nicest person you could ever meet - and is also my best friend - along with my best female friend], I know this is not usually the case.)

I recently had a rant in a previous question about people who are rewarded by the benefits system for making poor choices, and while I am happy to provide benefits with my taxes for people who genuinely cannot work and support myself, the others seem to be rewarded for laziness and stupid life choices.

But I digress, the fame of Jade Goody and her millions in cash are a fine example, emulated and made rich by society for all the wrong reasons - perhaps she really isn't as stupid as she pretends, but that just makes it worse!

It's now even cool to spell things wrong on purpose - cos u kno skool is 4 diks neway so y bovver?

With education in schools failing, the asbo and chav generation spilling into society everywhere and endlessly breeding, stupid and talentless celebs celebrated over the pages magazines acting like idiots and being celebrated for doing so, not to mention some of the offensive prats you see on this very site... I have to wonder; has stupidty become cool?

The Yahoo police pulled me over this morning for a question I asked yesterday it was 'Who is mightier God or Superman?'
The violation was for neither a question or answer but conversation.
Now to be honest I could understand if I had got one for hierarchy or something like that but for converstaion come on, has Yahoo gone mad?

fortunately i am not homeless but i was osndering would the problem of homelessness be lesseened if council;s and landlords gave people a address to live in rather than leraving them in a position where they cant claim benefits because they have no address basically give the homeless people a adress then they can claim benefits these are just my thoughts and opinions on current policies what do others think

My mother's name was (1950s) Margaret Mary Mackenzie and she lived and worked at the Shaftesbury Hotel (now Radisson Mountbatten) at Monmouth St, London WC2 for about 5/7 yrs whilst I lived with the Martin family at 36 Mimosa Street, SW6. She was stated to be British and briefly worked at Barker's of Kensington in 1950 before securing job with the Shaftesbury. Her purported dob is 11 June 1927 and I was born 1951 at St Mary Abbot's Hospital, Kensington. My father (diplomatic service) returned to Cairo and shortly after I was born all contact ceased apart from one contact (unnamed). 10 years I have been trying to locate Margaret who did not appear to have any family in UK and her NHS appears 'different' so she may have been born abroad.
