If we as Americans are going to spend all the money and lives to take over Iraq for whatever reason should it not then be ours? What happened to the motto “to the victor go the spoils”? Why do we now feel the need to fix the country and give it back to them? I think that if we are going to take it and fix it then it is ours. Would that not serve as more of a deterrent for other countries who we might have issues with in the future.

Let’s hope we can look back on 2005 as the beginning of the end of mandatory detention. The need for a renewed campaign to abolish it was fuelled by the breathtaking revelation on April 30 that Australian authorities deported an Australian citizen in 2001.

It was only when a family member contacted the immigration department (DIMIA) in early April in response to publicity about mentally ill Australian resident Cornelia Rau’s detention, wondering if the same thing might have happened to Vivian Alvarez, that the government realised its mistake — four years later!

These two cases are the tip of a potentially enormous iceberg. There were attempts to dismiss Rau’s mistaken detention as an isolated incident, but the “accidental” deportation of Alvarez, an Australian-Filipino citizen, whose whereabouts were unknown, points to a far more disturbing pattern. Alvarez’s marriage in Australia had reportedly broken down, and she had a serious mental disorder....

The Old Man tells me that when he was a lad, and worked on a local farm as a labourer in the holidays, that anyone wanting to set up a 'smallholding' could get a government grant.

It's the sort of thing I'd be interested in, so any idea if this scheme is still going? It was a long time ago, mind you!

I've heard stories that Scottish people change after they've had a drink and can become violent. Do you think I'll be safe or should I make up an excuse and cancel?

Let's say that today is Monday, Jan. 1 and you want to have a meeting with someone on Friday Jan. 12. If I said: I will meet with you NEXT Friday, would you assume that I meant Friday, Jan. 5 or Friday, Jan. 12?

I can't remember myself.... but i know that I have many times. I would just love that hysteria-laughter to visit me once more. Its one of those things, that would not be funny to others, but somehow hits you in the right spot and no matter where you are, or what you are doing you cannot control yourself. Pls tell me!! Iam 17yrs guy. You see me that i am born & grown-up in nudity. During childhood ,i alway think that whole world is nudity, no-one told me. And when teenage ,i use to walk in public ,but i see most people in all ages is wear cloths. i wonder why they wear cloth ? i belives that gods have make every nature so beautiful !They said that it is shame to be nude! Its true!! what is wrong be nude ? I love to be Nude! i have no object about nudity! Pls answer it ! And tell me about your feel when you nude(only)!!
Note-iam not going to change my nudity life, just know why not be nude & nude in public !

I have moved alot in my life. From state to state. Country to Country. Yet, there are some people that never leave their hometown. There's nothing at all wrong with that, but how can a person be satisified...never knowing whats out there and experiencing life from other cultures, societies and different geographical environments? I admire people with such close connections that they are happy to stay put...I just don't understand it. Ever just "wish" you could take off and see the world?
