Everone I know here drinks. Always challenging me to drinking contests and games. I don't want to be rude, and have refused on numerous occasions, but I seem I can't control myself. I can still teach and do my job, but I feel lonely, hence, I think it is a source to my drinking habits. I'd appreciate some advice. There, and on smoking too. Thanks.

Where accurate information (FDA) should be equally distributed to all, why are regulations (that are passé) under consideration and even being imposed on NY ?

(Shouldn't policy makers be going after serious issues, like immigration, jobs, and so on ?)

I'm also wondering - if you know how a process works then you can make that process go faster?

Oh back to the cheerleader question, I was just asking because I watched a movie tonight that had depictions of cheerleaders of 30-some years ago.

Humans have ten fingers; thus a base-10 number system naturally evolved. But have any civilizations throughout history used a number system other than base 10?

There are girls who kiss girls but aren't gay. There are girls/boys who pretend to be gay but do it for fun. I didn't think a person's sexuality is a game. People make it seem like being gay is "in"

In your opinion why has society begun to focuse on the outward apperance?
Why have people become cold and heartless toward everyone?
And why is it considered cool to be well cruel to others?

Sigh, I love it when some questions get people riled up. Especially the controversial ones where people start name calling and flaunting their own self induced superiority. Is that wrong of me? I mean it shows people have convictions. And the best thing is that you dont have to agree with it. What kind of person does that make me? im curious.

Mere movements, or conspiracies?

Pseudo/ post-feminism - my invented term. It claims that feminism is dead - but it uses the guise of feminism to further its sexist cause. On the surface, it seems to liberate women. But unlike true feminism, it doesn't promise equality. It's about unrestrained, escalating power - and a hidden agenda.

The emasculated male - every few years, it takes on a new name. There was the sensitive new age guy, the metro sexual, and now the EMO movement. Another bogus, hidden agenda that erodes our social fabric, dignity and worth.

Sub-question:

If you know of any good sources, links or societies that mirror my concerns, kindly list them or enlighten me about them. Anti-feminism, or conspiracy theory sources would do. No cut-and-paste jobs, please.

Note: I come here not to turn women and men against each other. Rather, I'm concerned about the conspiracies that are the real enemies that turn us into enemies, as singles and as families.

So, fine Starbucks is promoting the new Mitch Albom book. But how creepy is this, I've been in several Starbucks with the manager's ringing endorsement of the book appearing on their on their oh-so-friendly hand-written blackboards. The scary thing is the endorsements are identical, verbatim. But because they're handwritten they appear genuine. It's deceitful and manipulative. You think?

I am single, renting a room in a house with 3 housemates who I don't communicate with. In short, they are strangers to me.
So oftentimes, people ask me with "Do you live alone?", I always had to think twice before answering and I'd end up with: "No, I'm renting a room". Is "Yes, I live alone" the right way to say it?

Sorry, I had a lot of questions. I was talking to some friends at lunch and everyone started talking about their boyfriends. People were saying what they liked and what they didn't like. I'm wondering if people could describe their experiences...I've heard a lot of older people say young people don't know what love is, but it had to start somewhere, right?
