BTrix is right, the modern entertainment industry really got on its feet right after the introduction of network radio in 1924. That created new stars, especially Louis Armstrong and Hoagy Carmichael.

Jazz, modern music, and rock and roll would have been impossible without radio.

We never ever would have won the cold war without radio. Those living in a dictatorship could "steal" the real news from the west. Without that, most of the world would still be enslaved.

There would be no modern aircraft or television without radio. There would be no space rockets, no satellites, no radio telescopes, no radio medicine and little nuclear medicine.

It would be critically more difficult to counter propaganda and lies without radio.
