I am single, renting a room in a house with 3 housemates who I don't communicate with. In short, they are strangers to me.
So oftentimes, people ask me with "Do you live alone?", I always had to think twice before answering and I'd end up with: "No, I'm renting a room". Is "Yes, I live alone" the right way to say it?

No..tech. you don't live alone, although it may seem that way you don't. I shared something similar with my room mate last semester but after a while you get tired of ignoring each other and find a common ground
