The question on the floor is: What is keeping people busy with their Blackberries? Dang, my house or cell phone barely rings 3 times in a day. My job is computer education and rarely students sign up for classes I have an excellent job. Even if my boss gave me a Blackberry, let alone a cellphone, I would be staring at it all day waiting for it to ring.

What is happening that keeps people so busy that they don't have time to enjoy life?

I mean I've worked other places where there are "busy" times but eventually it slows down and I just don't understand Help What is it like to have a job so demanding that, I don't even understand to give a question about it.

See I have nothing to do and here I am on Y!A wasting y'alls time.

At my current job, we were blazer jackets when it is not the summer, and during the summer - they come up with a "summer uniform". This summer, my uniform was the wrong size, so I asked them to order me a different size. They wouldn't re-order for me, and I have been wearing last summer's uniform (it changes each yr) and we had a corporate visit, and they said I can't wear last years uniform, have to wear this years, or the blazer.
My boss is saying that I have to wear the blazer now through the year, because the "summer is almost over anyway."
Mind you, I live in New York where it can get pretty damn hot in the summer. Today it is probably late 80's...and I have to wear this jacket to work starting at noon!!!
What do you think I should do about it?
Thanks for your help! I appreciate it!!

People should all have rights. Civil rights, human rights. But why should any habit confer additional rights on anyone? This would be true if your habit was inoffensive and benign, but even more so if you habit is disgusting, offensive and a health hazard.

If people developed the habit of eating raw excrement would we allow them to eat it in public? Would we let them eat it at their desk at work? Would we let them stand outside the entries to public buildings eating their crap and leaving the leftovers lying around on the ground?

Is smoking any different? It stinks, is gross and represents a health hazard, just as a dung-eating habit would do. So why do we let the fiction of "smoker's rights" even enter into the conversation.

You do not have extra rights (the right to pollute, annoy, endanger) because you have acquired a filthy and dangerous habit.

you are the only one sitting in a stall in a large public bathroom, and someone comes in and sits in a stall right next to you? This would be assuming that each stall was of equal dimensions, equally clean and had enough toilet paper. We are having a large debate about this at work. Why or why not does it bother you, or have you never thought of it? If you think one way, why do you think others think the opposite way? Do you think being married makes a difference since people with spouses may be more used to people being around when they use the bathroom? Any insight is appreciated ~
