Not weird at all. The mind is very powerful if you know how to use it. Pain comes from the mind, not from a cut, etc. So, if you focus on something else, or learn how to block out the pain, it works. Some people even use hypnosis as the pain-killer for major surgery instead of drugs.

Oh, my stars, Oh., my stars, I thought I was the only one that did that.

When I stub a part of my body, I like bite the bullet and in a few moments the pain isn't there. Now one time I spilled some hot water on my foot and tried to continue mopping the floor but that was unbearable. Other than that like an ant bite I almost doesn't phase me.

Try hitting your thumb with a heavy hammer and then see if you can avert that pain. I kind of doubt that you can think your way out of real pain (even if you were the biggest druggie in your high school).

Then I guess the 6 bouts of cancer and the years of pain that went with it are all my imagination?

No, it is the interpretation by your brain of messages from your nerves. If it is your brain that interprets pain, then you can use your brain to consciously change the interpretation of pain.

Basically, pain is all in your head.
