The usual explanation is 13 at the Last Supper ...
but I've heard some alternative explanations ... that it may have something to do with the Major Arcana of the Tarot, with the mermaids of the North Sea, or with Philippe Le Belle and the Knights Templar (shades of Dan Brown). What do you reckon? Is the Last Supper theory just a Christian repackaging of older and/or less respectable beliefs? Which theory do you think is the right one and why?

I read the Four Myths of Winnebago that Claude Levi-Strauss applyed his method to for my anthropological thought class and I became really intrested.I was wondering if perhaps it could be applyed to urban legends and modern and past day american myths/legends (Pecos Bill,Paul Bunyan and the likes).I was thinking about doing a study/writeing a paper on this for my own enrichment outside of class.

-main character
-main character has to have a sidekick
-4 hyperboles (exaggeration)
-3 conflicts (problems
-3 personification (giving something life. ex: the grass whistled in my ear... something like that.)
-it can have a villian

- the myth has to be something about nature or environment

-ex: how earthquakes form?

Back in the 70's I rented a house from a retired teacher who lived next door. The house had at least 5 acres of land, 2 bedrooms, livingroom, kitchen and bath downstairs and an unfinished upper floor. This house is located on Hwy. 165 in Ft. Mitchell Alabama about 1 mile from the Post Office.

Does anyone know the legend of this home? I had some very frightening things happen there.

Ft Mitchell is a small town and apparently the locals knew I'd rented the 'haunted house'. Needless to say I didn't stay long but have never found out what has happened there.

Anything out there in cyberspace?
