Yes, Cronus - aka Saturn - is a planet.
After Zeus became ruler of Olympus, Cronus and the other Titans were banished and some were sent to live in Hades, others were sent to be non-existant.
One of the Titans - Promethues - was chained to wall in the Caucaus Mountain until Perces freed him while trying to save Andromoda from Medusa.

First off, Kronos and Saturnus are not the same. Saturnus stepped down from His Kingship when Jupiter came along and went to Latium where He married the daughter of Janus and ruled Latium after Janus. The planet Saturn was later named after Saturnus.
Kronos was dethroned, sometimes He is said to have been castrated (which refers to the testicles). Kronos was throne into Tartaros, the deepest level of the Underworld, along with other Titans who fought against Zeus and His Olympians.

I think that Cronos was the father of Zeus and Hades and a bunch of others, but there was a prophesy that Cronos would be killed by his son. Cronos swallowed every God that was born. So when Zeus was born his mother hid him. Zeus grew up and battled his father. He had a bunch of people on his side (can't remember who), and Cronos had the Titans. Zeus wins the battle and kills Cronos and saves the kids.

I believe that Cronus is the Roman name for Saturn. I can't be 100% on that one though.
