I want to teach my grandma English. She currently speaks only Khmer (Cambodian) and knows just a few phrases in English but not enough to have a conversation with someone in English. I've tried teaching her before but it's really difficult because she can't pronounce certain letters like the "f" or the letter "j" because those sounds don't exist in the Khmer language.

English also uses "is" and "are"... verbs "to be" and in the Khmer language, there's not really any words for "to be" and my grandma doesn't understandy why you need the verb "to be" in the English language.

My grandma's 77 years old and I don't know if it's possible to teach her English because I've heard that as kids, we have this part of our brain that enables us to learn languages but if we don't exercise that part of our brains, it's gone.

So I was wondering, what's the best way to teach her English and are there any videos or program for teaching someone who's Cambodian to learn English?

Pronoun - verb agreement: Which is correct?
1.It is me that loves her, not him.
2.It is me that love her, not him.
Or should it be:
3.It is I that love her, not him.
(I know that 'I' is usually subject and 'me' object, and 'It' doesn't seem to be subject of 'love', so 'me' would be subject of love in the first 2 sentences, but is 'me' correct then, and if so, is it 3rd of 1st person? Or is only the last sentence correct with the use of 'I' to create that emphasis on myself?

How fluent can a person expect to be if they devote the summer to learning Spanish in the countries that speak it? I've applied for an internship in Spain and am looking for a total immersion language school in another spanish speaking country. My summer break extends from the end of May to the end of September and I have had 2 years previous language training in Spanish, but it's weak at best as I don't know how many people are going to quiz me on the numbers up to 100 or the random parts of the body.

I was watching Y Tu Mama Tambien last night and they were playing a truth or dare type game (without dare) and I looked the word up and its verdad but in the movie they say something like neta or something. what are the main/detailed differences between (latin america) spanish and (spain) spanish? i am thinking about buying rosetta stone spanish but dont know which spanish to buy. if you know latin america spanish can you go to spain and have the native "spains" to understand you? how much do u learn with level 1 and/or 2? any other info please share

I'm a sophomore in college who hasn't taken French since her senior year in high school. I'd like to start learning it again, but with school, I don't know how I'll find the time.

Has anyone out there been a college student in the same sort of situation -- wanting to learn/continue learning a foreign language, but not knowing if the time was available? How can I find a way to work this into my daily routine.
