I'm a sophomore in college who hasn't taken French since her senior year in high school. I'd like to start learning it again, but with school, I don't know how I'll find the time.

Has anyone out there been a college student in the same sort of situation -- wanting to learn/continue learning a foreign language, but not knowing if the time was available? How can I find a way to work this into my daily routine.

Is there a language laboratory at your College which you might be allowed to use from time to time? If you were to ask permission to use it at specific times, then perhaps this would act as a discipline. Otherwise, perhaps you could borrow CD and improve your knowledge that way, if you have a personal CD player. It is amazing how much information one stores just by listening while doing mundane tasks. Good luck!

Just take an entry level class just to get the feel of it again. I took Spanish for three years in high school and I had my first French class this semester (it's fun). Your best bet is to either take a placement test to see what level French class you'd be in or just start from the very beginning. There is also computer software that teaches languages too, think its called Rosetta.

There are books called "Learn French In 10 Minutes A Day" (or any other language, really!) where you just spend 10 or fewer minutes a day and you can quickly pick up the language.

HTH!
