Tell me about a special Passover you remember: a family seder, a community seder, whatever!

My hebrew teacher has invited me at her house for the Seder. This will be my first experience of Pesach. I am not a jewish(nor christian nor anything else) but I am interested in judaism. I would like to know if I should bring her something as a gift, I want to be polite, and what could I give her? I only know that things that contain enzymes are prohibited during these 8 days of Passover.
Thanx,
חריסה!

Hi there --

I'm hoping someone can help me. I have to schedule a number of events around the first two weeks of April.

I've been told that Passover starts on April 2 and runs for a week. I've also been told to avoid the first days of Passover (e.g. April 3).

Is it best to avoid this whole period? Would it be insensitive to schedule something on, say, the 8th or 9th?

In essence, I don't know if all of the days during passover carry equal weight for those celebrating it. If it they do, please let me know.

Thanks.

Are tortillas ok to eat during passover since they are not leavened? And can I drink beer? What alcohol can I drink during passover?

I am looking for information in regards to a Sedar Meal, how it is prepaired, when does it take place, time of day etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Including first hand knowledge as well as information found on the internet (good sites to view).
