I am a Christian and believer in Christ. I know that the Passover represents the Jews' freedom from Egypt. Not being a Jew (at least not that I know of), and having never been enslaved in Egypt, the practice of Passover just does not apply to me. And I do not know of any Jews (I actually know very few) who would invite me to a Passover Seder. Usually it is a Jews-only event, and I appreciate that.

Passover is the night Christ was captured by Judas and handed over to the Jewish authorities in the High Priest's home and then taken to Pilate and crucified, or there abouts. It is the death and resurrection that is more important to me and the night of all mankind's spirtitual freedom as the ultimate sacrifice. Passover night represents the new covenant, the new communion, and the fact that salvation is no longer exclusively for Jews, but for all mankind.

Catholics are bound to participate in the Easter Celebration where Jesus has had the Last Supper (Holy Thursday -or Maunday Thursday) then Good Friday and then the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, which in fact is Easter. The Passover was a Jewish Tradition which started after the killing of the First Born Child of the Egyptians. They were ordered then to paint their door with Lamb's blood so that the angle of death will not enter into that house and spare the first born of that house, and that they should heftily eat the lamb etc. I do celebrate this passover meal in our hall with parishioners where we eat lamb and say some blessing prayers and incense the lamb before eating it. I live in Peru.

I am a Christian and I do believe in Christ, but I also observe Passover because it was instituted by God in the OT and it belongs to God. I do not do a seder because that is a Jewish tradition that was not instituted by God and it belongs to the Jewish people. Observing Passover is commanded by God, as one of His Holy Days. Observing a seder is a ritual practiced by the Jewish people and is not part of God's Holy Days. Christ said to render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and render unto God the things that are God's. The same goes for the seder and Passover: render unto the Jewish people the things that are Jewish (seder), and render unto God the things that are God's (Passover). Christ was our Passover and He observed Passover in the NT, WITHOUT a seder. If we are TRULY Christian, which means being Christ-like, or doing like Christ does, then we are to follow His example and continue to observe HIS Passover as He did: foot washing, wine and unleavened bread (serving others, partaking of his "blood" and "broken body.")

I didn't set these rules; God did. We have free choice to do what we THINK God should accept, IF we think we have the right to tell God what to do. That was Job's "thinking" and look what happened to him.

I believe in Yahoshua and observing Passover. Anyone worshiping Yah, the Father in heaven, should. People celebrate every holiday man created, why don't they rather celebrate the one's Yah created...
