Yes reciting Qur'an by his/her family especially by his/her children is fruitful for the deceased muslim person if the reciter has intention for that purpose..beside for him/her self.The listeners of the reciting Qur'an will have a benefit too..Someone who often recites qur'an at home will be attended by angels too.and satans will go away from that house.Allah ssytated in in our holy Qur'an and Muhammad pbuh told it in his Hadith.
During ramadhan most muslims recited Qur'an because its rewards was more than in the other months.
