How's this going to play out? "They" are trying to get Santa to say, "Ha, ha, ha!" instead of, "Ho, ho, ho!" down in Australia. It seems that the "Ho" reference is "too similar" to an American slang word for a prostitute and the Ozzies don't want their children scarred by the term.

If someone is young enough to believe in Santa Claus, where did they learn about "Ho's" in the first place?

I see Christians are concerned with non-Christians celebrating Christmas. But, Santa Claus, gift giving, tree trimming, mistletoe are clearly non-religious activities.

I for one do not mind. It never even entered my mind, until today.

Maybe we should pick a different date so that Christians can celebrate the birth of Christ without all of the Christmas activities? Maybe August. Nothing happens in August, anyway.

That way, there would be no problem.

Do Jews get presents on Hanukkah just so they don't feel left on because of Christmas, or is there a real reason for the gifts? Also, i think if their is no reason they should just celebrate Hanukkah without any gifts and get gifts on Christmas from "Santa." Christmas really isn't a Christian holiday any more.

I have no idea what to buy my cousin-in-law for Christmas. She is 17 and a high school senior. She lives in Pennsylvania and wants to major in journalism in college. Why not save up throughout the year for the holidays.. or start early enough.. a little here and a little there... so you won't have this problem come December? It's as simple as saving $20 a paycheck to have enough at Christmas to make your kids happy and bring them a little joy at Christmastime. I know what you will say.. "Christmas is more than just gifts" which is true and I agree.. but then kids also believe that Santa will bring something if they are nice and not naughty throughout the year, right? I work as a christmas temp in a respected store, but as a student I am being kicked out of my accomodation for a week over christmas (23-30th) I also have no uni from 23rd to 5th Jan and am supposed to help out with a christmas panto. My boss ahs informed me that I can have christmas day off, then expects me in work on xmas eve, boxing day and new years eve. I wont have accomodation for the first two and am required to be at home for new years eve due to panto. There's no way I can get home for boxing day as there's no trains, so my boss told me to stay in my accomodation over christmas day!! Basically he demanded I stay at uni in order to work for him over christmas. This means I will have no-where to live and will be alone on christmas day. This is my first year as a student and it scares me thinking of christmas alone. What do I do?
