On here, I see constant references to Native Americans, African American, August Bank Holiday Island somewhere in the Pacific Americans. Yet, allegedly, you have a country.

Do any of you consider yourselves American Americans, or are you all just temporary visitors?

Ive been wonderin and i wanted to know is WHITE people different from greek,french,itlaians ect... and same for african-AMERICANS from jamacians,hatitans...ect... I think they are different and fall under Caucasion and Black race. I really dont kno lol im just 14 but what do you think???

No animosity...but I think it's official, we have the most negative sterotypes. I wonder why. I was really oblivious to my skin color (anyone's skin color for that matter, and the affect it would have on ones life), until I went to college.

Ive noticed people actually changing the way they talk to me (i.e. "ghetto" slang)...I'm like...uhhh, why are you talking to me like this? lol

I mean, I grew up in a VERY diverse city in California...so stereotyping is ridiculous to me. I look at everyone as an individual. So it's taking me a while to understand why people can't think the same way.

I also think the way black people are perceived in the media affects peoples' perception. Why don't people realize were not all the same...What you see on T.V. is propaganda and an illusion.

I moved to a predominately white suburban neighborhood in California recently...let's just say I don't exactly feel at home lol....blah

Whatever...just ranting. Thoughts?

I dont think it is right that blacks can have there own college (***** fund)or whatever its called, have there own shows BET (black entertainment)whites couldnt even try to attempt haveing a white college it would be concidered racist,also why do all blacks say all whites are racist?I think they are the main ones who are racist there the ones with the grudges with whites.

When "most" of them look down on those of African descent? Last time I used the word "ALL", but this time I am using "most" most=95% and up but not 100% I would say only 5% of these groups are actually non-racist put together, not 5% from each group. And don't give me that "blacks are the most racist" cause how can we look down on on others when we are at the bottom. And yes I know some blacks are racist against each other, it just that we have so much against us already from our own group then we got them jumping on our back as well. Maybe it's the cultures and text books that teach black is bad.

have been in the uk for while but dont know where to meet people with the same interests as me and who have good manners and are not caught up with the u.k thing i.e cleavage flashers and people who abuse their new found freedom. Back home i would have been called a 'nose brigade/ musalad, etc' but am a down to earth girl who likes to stay in and go out on special occassions not all the time. Please help. thanks

I believe scholarships should be based on financial need and ideas. Scholarships should not be based solely on ethinicity. Everyone is an American here in the United States. What makes America uniques is because we are made up of different cultures. This issue should open the eyes of America because scholarships based on ethinicity just enhaces racism in America. Everyone should have an equal chance of getting a scholarship regardless of ethinicty and skin - color. Just because I have darker skin does not make me better than a person with lighter skin. Both of us should have the equal chance of receiving a schoalrship.
