Hello, I am a PhD student with a learning disability. I am a social worker and need some input for a application project at school. My hope is that the project will also be helpful and maybe a new agency to help others like myself. I created Learning Differently Network Support (www.ldns.org) I beleive it is time to expand and offer services. So I created this: http://www.ldns.org/lsa.htm
If you like it or do not like it, would love to know why and what is additionally needed in order to help others. Thanks! Anita

I've been chatting with a girl about 3 months. We started talking about normal things. But we got to know eachother better and we talked about intimate things. She started talking in a flirty way (she's has a gf),so I did the same. At 1 point the conversation got all hot and heavy but we stopped at the right time. I know she loves her gf very much, I've told her that if we would talking like that she would get mad at me! A while later we talked the same again, the next day I turned on MSN and she blocked me, I called her and she told me that I wanted more! SHE always is the 1 who starts talking like that, I was just copying her behaviour, were talking again but it isn't the same. Does she like me? Sometimes she's really nice but when her gf is there she sounds like a total b...I REALLY like her as a FRIEND (nothing more) but I'm terrified I'll lose her or I'll say something wrong. I'm afraight to contact her on MSN and wait till she starts talking to me.What should I do?

Allegiance?
When we were children each morning there was a prayer in school followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
It seems to me that it gave a child something to believe in, an inspiration.
Now a days, there are so many people apposed to this that schools have stopped.
Do you think it is making a difference in our youths?

The weekend we have just had as regards Pomp & Circumstance? Yes, I do get out and about but this weekend was a bit special. If you cannot get to these events the T.V. is the only way to experience them. I thoroughly enjoyed them and shed a few tears throughout. I am not in my dotage, yet! but what a spectacle!! We are the envy of the world for upholding our traditions so, did you enjoy?

Having just had a whole weekend of Pomp and Circumstance with the Lord Mayors Show and the Festival of Rememberance yesterday followed by the Cenotaph Parade this morning, I just wondered how many times the Queen must have heard the Anthem.

This is a serious question. What is it that makes people think that they are ugly. I know that some people are told that they are, and people see figures in the media and compare themselves to them. But what is it that makes people believe that they are really ugly and unattractive. Do you have to believe you are ugly to be ugly...if so then why not think the reverse and think that you are gorgous. Please answer

The shop (Currys) talked her into having a top of the range model, which she is having difficulty using basically because she doesn't understand the instructions.
She has asked Currys to change it for a more user friendly model several times, but they have refused, as it isn't faulty.

However, I've checked a few consumer rights websites, and they say goods have to be "fit for purpose".
So would "fit for purpose" mean it should be easy for anyone to use, even a rather easily confused OAP?

Pass The Butter Please.

THIS IS INTERESTING .......

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had funded all the research wanted to be paid back so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavorings.

DO YOU KNOW.. The difference between margarine and butter?

Read on to the end...it gets very interesting!

Both have the same number of calories.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.

Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.

Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!

Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.

Butter has been around for centuries whereas margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine...

Very high in trans fatty acids.

Triple risk of coronary heart disease.

Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.

Lowers quality of breast milk.

Decreases immune response.

Decreases insulin response.

And here's the most disturbing fact....

HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine is only ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC..

This fact alone is enough for me to avoid margarine for the rest of my life, and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

You can try this yourself:

Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or a shaded area. Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things:

* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something).

* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weensy microorganisms will not a find a home to grow in. Why? Because it is one molecule away from being plastic, remember? Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Share This With Your Friends..... (If you want to "butter them up")!

Chinese Proverb:

"When someone shares something of value with you, and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.

So be kind and share this with everyone you
