I get tired of people in the political section calling me and others on the opposite sides looney, idiots, crazy, etc and saying we shouild be killed, tortured, deported, shot, etc.
I have many timnes spent over two houirs at times trying to help people with heath problem etc. I have been told I have a heart of gold by dozens of people, I reared decent children and was a wonderful teacher, I help so many people, and give out of what little I have and of my time. I cared about my country..but when I come on here I am assaulted by people on the right with such viciousness at times, it becomes very upsetting. I know I am a sensitive person, but that sensitivity is what makes me empathetic and kind to others. Do you ever feel the world is in serious decline...maybe it's cause I am older that I rememeber a time when hate was not so prevalent in general society but when you get on here and on message boards, it seems people are so unkind. Is it because they forget

I'm a new follower of christianity, and I want to ask a few questions:

I like to pick out the stuff from the bible which makes me feel superior to others, and believe that god really meant those things. You know, gays are immoral, non-christians burn in hell, women should stay silent in church, etc.

But I completely disregard the parts I find inconvenient. You know, like the parts where Jesus says that slavery is A-okay, that divorce is immoral, doing any work on the sabbath is a sin, and that I shouldn't shamelessly use my religion to just make me look good.


I know that I'm just picking & choosing whatever is convenient for me.

Is this wrong?
Or am I doing what christians are supposed to be doing?

(I'm following the example of all of the christians I know, but something doesn't seem right about this.)

please advise.

I was out several years ago just doing my thing since I was still young and trying to live my life however foolish! I drank a few drinks-and a gun shot went off. Well I thought to myself life is hell anyway so I kept on dancing! Dumb drunk?

The different religions of the world evolved from mankind's 'collective unconscious' and then were influenced by actual global events and cultural influences. Every human perceived that the Divine was something that was experienced privately and explained communally...so Hinduism and Islam and Christianity and Buddhism and animist beliefs, etc. are all describing the same thing through a cultural perspective...is this 'World Religions 101'?

We are small now, but inshallah, we will be the largest sect within 30 years. We will be tolerant to the Sunni and Shiite remnants as long as they learn peace(which I'm afraid they may never learn.)

As a sociological study, a friend of mine counted how many thanks' and sorry's she got in a day, and their motivation. It was crazy how many he got. Do most people just do it as an automatic reaction? Is this a good thing? Does it show good manners or a lack of genuine feelings?

This morning there was a broken hand-held mirror on my bedroom floor and I am unaware if it was broken (stepped on) by me or another family member but I am scared because what if it was one of the children. Can you all please help me? Also, what is the religious take on this issue? Is there anyway to reverse the effects of it because my life is already in aan uproar. Pleaseh elp me out!

Do Missionaries, regardless of their religion (although I notice they tend to be Christians) do good work or bad? Is it forcing religion down people's throats, or is it helping along society?
