A believeable one

I do not think most Christians believe out of fear of hell. I think they believe because it gives them peace, and what is wrong with that?

It is clear you are confused. You don't believe but think you may have to hedge your bets. The old what if I am wrong.

Well guess what. Let's suppose that you decide that you need to believe just in case there is a heaven and hell. After all no-one wants to go to hell.

So you being telling yourself that you believe. Well........that's not enough. You must truly believe that God exists with your heart. You must come to know him. If you don't do this you are lost.

You are right to be worried. Some people don't even think about it.
They go through their lives with the idea that once gone that there is no more so why worry.

But you clearly think beyond what is in front of you and wonder about what may truly be out there that we can not touch, feel, or see.

All I can say is what have you got to loose? What if you come to believe in the lord and live your life for him and when the time comes there really isn't any more. What have you lost? But if you don't believe and their truly is a God you have lost everything for eternity.

Yea! I know. Not much help. But it all comes down to what you beleive.

So ... you can "say that there's no Heaven" and "pray that there's no Hell" ...

Faith is belief without reason. The verified historical data are verifying Biblical history and accounts more and more each day.

Noah's Ark has been found. The Ark of the Covenant has been found. Elements of divine prophecy contained in both the Old and New Testaments continue to come to fruition.

We are in the so-called latter days, also known as 'the age of the fig tree.' Belief cannot be forced upon another. Though you may not be one of God's Elect -- and as such probably won't be one to be brought before the Synagogue of Satan and allowed the privilege of speaking the unpremeditated inspiration of the Holy Spirit before the false prophet and his minions; you will have the millennium to come to terms with your belief or lack thereof.

As long as you do not commit the unforgivable sin forgiveness is available to you and your family will be there to help you prior to the white throne judgement. Just remember that no man knoweth the hour.

There are several reasons to believe, but I don't think anyone can tell someone something that would convince another person to believe. There's philosophical arguments about the need for a "first cause" for existance, the wager on the risk of being wrong and losing out on an afterlife... Most people will say they have a "feeling" or they're comforted by the belief in God/afterlife. (none of which I think are necessarily wrong) but you need to determine if there is a reason you should.

CHOOSE to be a Christian - join up and study the beliefs, all the things Christ said - every great word of his code of living. Separate his teachings from the Catholic Church (not that the Church is all wrong, but the celebacy thing and the power given to priests has distorted it). If you agree with Christ's message of love (you have to FEEL that - it's not an intellectual conclusion), and if you cannot find anything to disagree with (check out the Sermon on the Mount), then you will have to PRAY for understanding and grace. Grace is a warm glow that makes you want to do good. Once you get all that, you will know inner peace, and then you will be selfless, and thus open to god's will - which is to help you to become joyful (glad to be alive, itching to do good). (A long journey, eh?) Good luck!

Fear of Hell is a reasonable thing to have, I certainly don't want to go there. But that's not why you should believe in God. That's like saying your sorry but only because your mom told you to. You should believe in God because it's what your heart knows to be true. I'm Catholic and I would love for you to become a believer but only for the right reasons.

Would you Consider yourself to be a good person? good enough to go to heaven?
I would like to ask you a few questions to see How you will do on Judgement day..........

Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and The BIble say's if we have Hated someone we have comitted murder. Have you always put God first? if Not, that is a violation of the second of the Ten Commandments "thou shalt not commit idolatry."
Listen to your conscience, bearing in mind that Nothing you’ve ever done is hid from His holy eyes. Will you be innocent or guilty on the Day of Judgment? Listen to your conscience. You know that you will be guilty, and therefore end up in Hell. Should that make you fear? yes, ofcourse. Would you sell one of your eyes for a million dollars? of course not! our eyes are greatly valued by you and I, but if our eyes (windows of our soul) are so valuable, how much more valuable should our soul be that looks through those eye's? Our soul is very valuable, and because of that, we should fear hell, hell is painfully tormenting and it is forever. but there is good news, God sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name, and If you will repent (turn from sin) and put your faith and trust in jesus as Lord and savior, God will forgive you and grant you the gift of everlasting life. I must say this, Dont repent simply because your afraid of Hell, repent because you have sined and broken the Law of a Holy God, and instead of giving you Justice, he has loved you enough to give you a way out.
God Bless

Fear of hell is a reason to believe.

I believe because I know there is a God. People say that you cannot know, but you can. Jesus does not perform miracles as he used to but he does do smaller miracles. This may seem hard to believe but come to Him because the fear of hell and the rest will follow guaranteed. What have you got to lose. If you decide it was all a sham (and you won't) you can go back to the way you were...right?

I believe because

1. I have been set free

I was sexually abused at 2 years old - the miracle is Jesus protected me from any more sexual abuse during my childhood. Also that I could forgive the man (my father) who did it to me. I did not wind up pregnant at 13 but I kept myself until I got married.

2. I have seen miracles with my own eyes

I have seen people who are cripled walk (you can too watch here-www.spiritword.org.za ) I have seen people been delivered of demons

3. I feel Jesus talking to me - I just know

When you are totally convinced that Jesus is the way the truth and the life, you wont have to "fear hell" in order to believe

the Bible says "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" Jer 29 v 13

Start seeking.

Before I gave my heart to Jesus Christ, I had no peace (but I didnt know it then) and I had no real joy and I had no purpose and I was insecure. I was living an empty life. I was a lesbian, a slave to cigarettes, searching for meaning, and very overweight.

Lord Jesus came into my life and sorted everything out my friend. He healed me from lesbianism, delivered me from smoking, and has given me purpose and direction in my life.

I am now self confident and assured and look up to my God who I trust with my whole being. I do not need to fear anything because He is FOR me.

I know the Creator of the universe and I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ who leads and guides me and loves me. He gives me success and blesses me.

Quite frankly, I dont know how I survived so long without Him.

Make the change - you will NEVER be sorry my friend.

Life today is so much more enhanced with Jesus Christ in it and its also exciting and dynamic and awesome having a relationship with Him!

Blessings - my He open your eyes to the truth more so that you can see and come to Him.
