I keep hearing about people with HIV and AIDS "protesting" because they do not feel that enough is being done for them. Far more money is spent on AIDS research than any other disease, even though many other diseases are not even preventable (my cousin's daughter has cystic fibrosis, and hardly any research is being done for that, because AIDS takes all the money) and except for blood transfusions (very rare today) and some nut jabbing someone with a needle, HIV and AIDS are caused by a person's behavior. Even with all the information, people still choose to have random, multiple sex partners, they choose to have sex with people they know nothing about, they choose disgusting, un-natural anal sex, they choose to share needles because they want their drugs more than their health, and that is how they get the disease.

Shouldn't more money be spend on UNPREVENTABLE diseases than on diseases that, even with all the information on prevention, people still bring on themselves?

i know to "pray without ceasing" and that the Holy Spirit is our helper... but i mean, whats some practical things that work for u?

one of my mates covers any kind of light, cd player has a towel on it, door not cracked etc..

my other mate likes to get in that secret place with God by waking up at 3am and spending an hour at the kitchen table with her bible...

what works for you?

As of right now I hold no specific religion, which I'm sure I'm called an Atheist. I do believe in God and I am very strongly considering gaining a religion, not because of these naysayers who put down people like me most times, but because I feel in my heart it's time I picked one and I've chosen to become Catholic but I'm not sure how it all happens, tho I do know I'd have to get baptized. I tried to ask around but all people can tell me is how it works for a baby, not someone whose grown so can anyone help me with any information on steps to becoming catholic at an older age?

theres hard working single moms & non violent offenders in prison doing 15yrs bc they smoked a joint. but baseball players break the law and theyre rewarded w/million dollar book deals. they've had their 3 strikes time to call em out~its a crime to call what MLB players do, as anything related to sports or sportsmanship. while we're on sports, i read where every other country is complaining about american football not being as popular as world soccer. then quoted the numbers of fans 1.2 billion soccer vs. 91 million american football then they say OBVIOUSLY american football isnt as popular. ok, with that logic, being a billionaire isnt popular as being a migrant farmhand, cracker houses are more popular than mansions, Ford Focus is more popular than a lamborghini countach...Seriously, just look at the numbers! yeah, im just busting out the world for busting out my 2nd fav sport! of course the best is beach volleyball ~ dont believe me? check out their numbers 36-24-38 ;o)

I see many Muslims cry out to re-establish Islamic state thinking that this will bring peace and happiness to the whole world. Their reason for that is that they say there was an Islamic state some time ago and it was really great and now they want to re-establish it.

Can anyone tell me when exactly was this golden era of that Islamic state? from what year to what year? and how long did it last?

Also, how did it collapse? and why was it great? and was everyone happy in it (including non-muslims)?

from my past life’s experience of world I have sense/knowledge/feeling that if people pray/worship to a saint possibility of getting benefit is far more than pray/worship to god proof 1) there is more follower in catholic Christianity which is giving more importance to saints compared to protestant Christianity(people use to go where more benefit is there) 2)I just found that in Islam praying to anyone else other than Allah is very big sin (some are saying biggest)despite this being a big sin big number of Muslim doing this by praying at dargah (an Islamic shrine built over the grave of a revered religious figure)to Sufi saints (belief is some people use to get what they are asking for in prayer at dargah)so what is your opinion pray to saints or god?

.... when people insult Muslims/Arabs/MEasterners? I do. It angers me to see bigotry of any kind. For example, there are lots of beautiful White people who are loving and not prejudiced. When they hear bigots insulting Blacks, Hispanics, and other minorities, these good White people get upset and embarrassed, rightfully so. As an American, that's how I feel whenever other Americans insult the MEast, Muslims, Arabs, etc. It angers and embarrasses me. The insults are so awful, and it makes us look so bad! I really wish it would stop.

Does anyone else agree? And please, no insults or bad talk here. Let's keep this at a rational, adult level.

in or around 400 a.d. images and statues where created to show conflicts of martyrs and sacred history to those who could not read. Although the intent wasn't there, the simple people started to worship the statues and images themselves.

Exodus 20: 4, 5--"You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of thsoe who love me and keep my commandments.

So, why is it that the catholics are still worshiping false idols and completely ignore what was written in Exodus?

Problem is that he wants to do the picking. And is very pushy about it. I really want to try being with another women. I love my husband but he is over-weight and has let himself go in the yrs we have been together. I guess I do have some insecurities about the whole thing.
