What works for me is every morning when I get in the shower I start of by singing a praise song and then I ask the Holy Spirit to channel the course of my thoughts and direct me in my prayers. I always try to "pray God's Word back to Him". In other words as I'm giving the Lord the burdens that are on my heart I'll say something like "You Word says such and such about this situation but I'm having trouble...".

Another tip to having valuable prayer time is to be thinking of what God's revealed will for situations is in the Bible and praying along those lines. As to praying without ceasing, for me that means that throughout the day when something bothers me I say a quick prayer about it when I have a chance. I might go outside on a break if I'm at work or something like that and pray where people can't overhear me.

Praying is just talking and even more importantly listening to God. I talk constantly with Him. When I am driving down the road, while I am at work, anywhere. But it is also important to have those quiet times without distractions to really sit down and just be quiet and listen to Him. You need to find the place and time where it will work for you but don't forget that He is there for you through out the day.

I'm not so good at reciting prayers, so I prefer to pray by doing things. Let me explain. When I get up, I offer God the new day and everything it will bring, good and bad. If I have a pain, I offer it for somebody, etc. If I have to do housework, I offer it as a prayer. Other than that, I say a short prayer when I get up and when I go to bed.

Most people think that I'm a weird Christian, but this is what works for me: I treat Jesus like my best friend, literally. I talk to Him inside, or if I'm alone, I talk to Him out loud. I use slang, speak as though I was talking to my best friend. He IS my best friend. He should be everyone's best friend. That's how I think of Him, so when I pray, it's a lot different than most prayers.

And I strangely cannot pray out loud in front of people, like for lunch or dinner or something. I can't "get a grip" on God. I can't pray out loud without feeling like I'm just reciting words that I learned in Sunday school, or feeling like I'm only trying to impress the other people listening with my words. I can only pray inside. I sometimes feel guilty for only praying when I need His help in a certain situation. I know I should pray a lot more. In so many ways, I need Him to guide me and be my Tour Guide of life, and my Road Map, and my Path. I know He is, I just need to look more carefully for Him.

I don't know if He does this to other people, but I know God has a sense of humour because He plays tricks on me. I'm serious. He does! I can't really explain it, but He teases me and I love Him for it. God is most certainly my best friend. And He's blessed me with a best friend on earth, though this best friend is 14 and a half years older than me and a guy. He is still a blessing in my life. No, I don't have a crush on him, and no, he's not my boyfriend. He's a Christian too--he's my brother-in-Christ. We're closer than peanut butter and jelly, chocolate and vanilla, black and white. We're closer than any biological or legal brother and sister, though we aren't really related in any way. He's awesome!!! God and Jesus and this guy I just told you about are my BEST FRIENDS ever!!!!!

Okay, now that I've told you my life story (and then some), I'll shut up now. :-) LOL!

When I am outside watering in my garden. I have time to just slow down and think about the people I am concerned about. I also have times set aside for prayer and fasting. Usually it is during the week, in the morning. It helps me to focus on the request's I am making and to really be more aware of God's presence.

When my heart is really heavy and I need special time alone with God I go to the altar at church by myself.
Since I help clean the church I have a spare key to the front door. I spend as much time on my knees as I need at the altar.
Sure works wonders for me.

You can pray anytime and any where. There's been times I had to pray in my mind to hold my tongue in front of someone offending me. God hears our prayer, He knows what we are going to ask for B 4 we pray. Ask yourself, "how deep do I want my relationship with the Lord?" I have 3 kids, it's not easy to find time in the day, my kids and I worship n pray 2gether.

I pray when I first wake up. I also pray in the shower. And sometimes I pray as I am driving to work. Try to get outside at night and pray with the stars above you.

For me, it is any moment. But the best time is morning. If I am not too tired during the night, it may be good too, as it is usually silent. (Kids sleeping, like this moment).

I pray in swimming, jogging. Sometime during work, I pray and work. I pray while driving, and blessing for the person who cross my lane without signalling.

Any moment. If I am too tired during the night, I will open my pray with, "my lord. . . . " and Amen in the mornng.
