learning from choices I have made whether right or wrong at that particular time has helped me weigh up decisions I have made through my life instead of regretting hasty choices that seemed a good idea at the time.

Best advice given: dye your eyebrows to any other colour, people won't trust you with those ginger things.

If you put someone down publicly there's no way people can consider you're good.(it sounds better in french though)
My boyfriend's: "Never have a guinness out of Northern Ireland"

second one "you can't trust somebody who never had strawberries in his life", it was about his small sister's boyfriend who actually was a big weirdo.

Dont' go out with a man whose has a monobrow...they are wicked and will womanise until the cows come home...I didn't listen to this advice as a teenager and a monobrow boy broke my heart...for about a week..then his best mate asked me out!

"Trust no one" and "the truth is out there" - both excellent advice I have used for years from the X-Files. Oh yeah, and 'be careful what you wish for because it might come true' - I'm not sure where the latter one originates from but it does speak the truth.

"if the guy isn't into you the first time, he probably won't be the second..so stay away"..not sure if it's true or not, but there's always a situation where this is a fact. given to me from a friend.

Never spit in your food (meaning don't date people you work/live with etc).
never trust a guy that drinks too much or doesn't drink at all.
remember where the brakes are.

I love "practice makes perfect but only if you practice perfect" it's so true!
I think that my best one is; "If he loves you, he loves the way you are" Meaning if he wants to change things about you (most particularly the way you look) he doesn't ACTUALLY love you.
