I'm 22 and have been studying law for 4 years; I've always had high school performances but for 2 years I haven't been able to focus my attention to my books; and this is not a matter of will or interest. I like very much what I'm doing and wish to build a career. Is this a medical problem?

Are advertisers wasting their time with some people? I'm out of work now(hope to be employed soon) but if i can't afford to buy something i'd do without. When i hear about people going around robbing and killing just to show off, as if to 'say look at me' just makes me sick. Are advertisers partly responsible or are people to weak.

Also if we don't really care, could things be catching up with us. People are always saying 'what goes around comes around' is this usually true.

I've heard some people say things like they have actually seen angels or heard the voice of God speak to them. Some others have said they sometimes see a person's aura and it warns them about people who may mean them harm or tells them who is good. If you had one of these types of experiences, or someone told you they did, would you consider it a confirmation of your spirituality or a sign of mental illness? How would you tell the difference?

I'm looking for something I can say to myself to help me calm down when I get angry.

I often get angry with my partner for really unimportant things, and then it morphs into this huge anger-monster that just tears me apart.

Does anyone have some advice?

And could you also go through the process by which you imagine objects.

I for example draw them in my mind, however the objects come out fuzzy, and not as realistic as real life

What is the one question you would like to ask about life and why? What do you think someone's answer would be? : )

i find this utterly disgusting; if I know somebody who can use my help, I help them, I don't go talking behind someone's back especially if I know this individual is a very fragile person. I don't mind talking about somebody who has wronged someone but not about people's personal lives if this would hurt them.

Why do you think people like this so much rather than being discreet and helping someone improve their life?

thanx

I had a partner who was quite, really quite. When I would do things that were wrong he'd just not say anything. He doesn't talk about his feeling, or displays much emotions.
Is it because he really doesn't care? Is he just emotionally dead? Will it cause problems for him later? Is it a problem to be really quite?

I'm driving a group of 9 people in a van, across a lonely desert highway in Arizona, at 80 mph (cruise control). We all want to get home to L.A. quick because we have to work in the morning. THe ride is smooth for the most part, but occasional ripples in the road send the van bouncing and make the passengers (especially the ladies) nervous. They (not so nicely) request that I slow down. Now, I am faced with a choice:

1. Be a strong individual, and keep going 80 (which is a safe, reasonable 5 mph over the speed limit) and get us home sooner...taking the belief that they're all just being wussy and will calm down after a while.

2. Slow down to 70 mph (cruise control) and watch RV's pass us by and get home later. I can take the embarrasment of being passed by large trucks, but 'caving in to other people's demands', when I know they are not grounded in reality (just in unreasonable fear) doesn't sit well with me.

I chose to slow down to 70, but feel like I did the wrong thing..
