talking behind someone's back?

i find this utterly disgusting; if I know somebody who can use my help, I help them, I don't go talking behind someone's back especially if I know this individual is a very fragile person. I don't mind talking about somebody who has wronged someone but not about people's personal lives if this would hurt them.

Why do you think people like this so much rather than being discreet and helping someone improve their life?

Everyone "talks behind people's back." It's a part of human nature.

First of all, let's define our terms -- If you swear someone to secrecy and they don't keep the secret, then you probably have a gripe there. If they are saying one thing to your face, but entirely another when you're not around, then that's a huge problem too. And, if they're just "gossiping" (spreading rumors and stories without any intention of helping) then I'd be disgusted too.

However, I've been in situation where I knew that someone was having trouble ("Fragile person") and I discussed the situation with people who were in a a position to help -- clergy, lawyers, church elders, accountants, etc. In one case the person was offended, perhaps embarrassed... but I would do it again (and have).

well to me talking behind other peoples back is very wrong because if you can not say it their face you should not say anything at all. And if you can't handle it on your own meaning if you need anybody to hlp you with your problems you can't help any body else.... maybe you should think about it.
