How Would You Sell Ice To Eskimos?

'How would you sell packaged ice to native alaskans?"

This is one of the questions microsoft asks its marketing applicants in job interviews.

My proffesor always told me that a GOOD marketer can sell a hamburger to a hungry man but a GREAT marketer can sell ice to eskimos.

So how would you sell ice to eskimos?????

Lets say somebody entered a public building that you were in and started shooting people. But there were too many people for the person to shoot them all before they could escape. However by unfortunate bad luck you are the last person inside and you get trapped by the gunman before you can get out of the building. You race down into the basement of the building hoping to hide but he knows where you are and follows you down the steps tripping half way down. The maniac falls and breaks his neck. You are now faced with the possibilty of being a hero who bravely stayed behind and single-handedly took down a gun-wielding madman. Since nobody saw how he died who could dispute your claims of heroism?
Do you crave the comfort of everyone's praise or do you put the cold truth out for all to see?
