How Would You Sell Ice To Eskimos?

'How would you sell packaged ice to native alaskans?"

This is one of the questions microsoft asks its marketing applicants in job interviews.

My proffesor always told me that a GOOD marketer can sell a hamburger to a hungry man but a GREAT marketer can sell ice to eskimos.

So how would you sell ice to eskimos?????

Interesting that Microsoft views us this way, but in any event: Our ice is purified mountain ice. It is certified as 99% pure ice. It was ice formed from natural springs.

You know, the same gimmick that has us paying 1.50 for a lousy bottle of water.

with good advertising and presentation.
before selling something to someone, one should do some research ,why do eskimos needs ice?does the eskimos used sterilized ice?is it save and healthy?do they have any money?
after you've done all the research needed ang gain some knowledge and Facts about both the ice and eskimos it's time to study the weaknesses of both subject...and it should be easy afterwards.
for example, since you you know the ice used on igloos are not healthy and dirty you could sell them an ice cube specially made from healthy untouched magical spring to make their igloos more comfy and healthy..

i would explain that the ice that they have may be great, but it takes labor and hard work to harvest this ice. With my ice, I can cut the labor out of your end, and you can then use your time to do the other things eskimos might need to do. For an extra price i can have this ice shaped into bricks or any other way you please, saving you further time in building igloos or what have you.

I would tell them that it came from the iceberg that did in the Titanic, and if they were to resell it to collectors of such memorabilia they could make millions. I guarantee you they'd be diggin' deep in their pockets in a hurry! Afterall, I recently read about a man who once grabbed and saved a paper cup half full of water that Elvis had been using while performing on stage. He took it home, put it in his freezer and kept it frozen. Years later, he began touring with the cup and receives $400 for each appearance. It doesn't melt because he constantly keeps it frozen in some sort of protective, refrigerated, see - through cube.

Been there done that and no I couldn't! I don't think I have very good selling capabilities, maybe I should only sell things I'm really interested in. Why does Skittles think this question is racist? I think they must have read the question wrong because it's really not.

Same way you sell bottled water to people. You package it and make it seem like it is clean. You tell them all the ice and water around them has a lot of polutants and what not.

You could suggest ice sculptures by renowned artists, or deal in different shaped cocktail ice.
