(hypothetical question)
If you have 1.8 gallons of gasoline, each which stores 100 mega Joules of energy which is released by burning the gas, and you could convert all the PE to KE of a rocket (60 kg).
☺ how fast would the rocket travel?
☺ if converted to gravitational PE how high could you fire the rocket?

• if the system accelerates 2.3 m from rest, how much work is done by gravity on the system?
• How can I use the definition of KE to identify the velocity of the system after having moved through the 2.3 m assuming that the system was released from rest.

so we have

m1 = 1 kg
m2 = 1.06 kg
x = 2.3 m
v0 = 0

What is the orbital KE of a satellite of mass 560 kg in circular orbit about a planet of mass 21 * 10 ^ 24 kg, orbiting at a distance of 47700 km from the center of the planet?
(G = 6.67 * 10 ^ -11 N m ^ 2 / kg ^ 2)

It also asked what would be the PE.

My question is pertaining to my formulas.
To determine the velocity I used
V = square root of ( G * M * m / radius )
KE = .5 * M * m * v ^2
PE = - G* M * m / R

M = mass of planet, (21 e 24 kg)
m = mass of satellite 560 kg
R = 47700 km

Let says i need to PUNCH a volleyball with the weight of 0.28kg at the angle of 68.8degree with a velocity of 9.5783m/s. Time taken is 0.75s and acceleration is 12.7712m/s^2. The maximum height of the ball must exceed 3.6m and a horizontal distance of 4.6m.
How do i calculate the collision force needed to carry out the above criteria ?

What would be the most efficient frequency/medium to send energy collected by satellite to the earth's surface? (Assuming a mechanism can be derived to convert a useful amount of power from the solar spectrum present outside the atmosphere)
As so much more energy is available outside the atmosphere surely this is a future solution?

a pendulum is released from rest at a displacement of .28 m from its equilibrium position. it is stopped abruptly and uniformly at its equilibrium position and it is observedthat a loose bit of metal slides without resistance of the pendulum and falls to the floor 2.06 m below.

if the projectile started off with a velocity in just its horizontal direction, and if travels .44 m in the horizontal direction during its fall, what was the velocity of the pendulum at equilibrium?

what is the period of motion of the pendulum?
