This tunnel runs from one point on the Earth to its opposite point on the other side of the Earth, directly through the center of the planet. I want to know what effects gravity will have on the item. After a while, due to the effects of friction on the item caused by air, I imagine the item would be slowed to a stop. Would it then just float in the middle of the planet in this tunnel? Would it implode on itself due to some weird trick of gravity? The mind boggles...

Normally depth of focus in a photo shows the foreground blurred, and the distance blurred, with the middle ground in nice clear focus.

But is it physically possible to reverse that effect?
Can a lens put the foreground and background in focus, while making objects in the middle ground look blurred?

Question About Momentum and impulse?
A tennis player swings her 1000 g racket with a speed of 13.0 . She hits a 60 g tennis ball that was approaching her at a speed of 17.0 . The ball rebounds at 45.0 .

1)How fast is her racket moving immediately after the impact? You can ignore the interaction of the racket with her hand for the brief duration of the collision.

2)If the tennis ball and racket are in contact for 13.0 , what is the average force that the racket exerts on the ball?

Evidence of helium was first detected on August 18, 1868 as a bright yellow line with a wavelength of 587.49 nanometres in the spectrum of the chromosphere of the Sun, by French astronomer Pierre Janssen during a total solar eclipse in Guntur, India- From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ( in the fields of tobacco, Guntur , HQ of Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, India) sothern part of india is close to the Earth's Equator, excellent place to carry out solar research in any aspect, Hindu mythology has rich source of slokas about SURYA, the Sun, Ancient Astronomy, Astrology etc., besides other religions. As you are aware that the Sun is the alternate source of energy, needs research but there is no centralised international research on solar energy. it is high time to start International solar research center, there is no place better than India on the Earth.

(a) A 6.00 kg object is released 4.8e7 m from the center of the Earth. It moves with what acceleration relative to the Earth? Assume that the objects behave as pairs of particles, isolated from the rest of the Universe.

For that question, my answer is 0.17m/s^2, which is correct but i'm confused about the second part:

(b) A 2.00 e24 kg object is released 4.8 e7 m from the center of the Earth. It moves with what acceleration relative to the Earth?

* I assumed that the mass of the object does not matter when using the equation

g = GM(earth)/R^2

but the assumption is wrong. They do not have the same acceleration relative to Earth although they're released from the same R. Any hints or help please?

My friend and I have been toying with this idea for a long time. He is a little dubious about my asking this online as someone could "steal the idea", but I think if it works, it would have been thought of a long time ago.

The idea is for a solar powered light, which shines on the very solar cells that power it. The sun would power it initially, but when the light shines, it could be removed from the sunlight. Provided that the cells always collected enough power to keep the light on, it would run itself until the bulb needed to be changed.

The question is, could this be done, even on a small scale? I'm a little skeptical that the light would provide enough energy to the cells to keep itself on, especially as solar cells are only 30% efficient or something like that.

Abstract: The problem of truth in science - the most urgent problem of our time - is discussed. The correct theoretical analysis of the generally accepted foundations of theoretical physics is proposed. The principle of the unity of formal logic and rational dialectics is a methodological basis of the analysis. The main result is as follows: the foundations (i.e. classical thermodynamics, the special theory of relativity, quantum mechanics) contain logical errors The existence of logical errors is irrefutable proof of incorrectness of the theoretical foundations and means that theoretical physics enters the greatest crisis. The crisis in physics leads inevitably to the general crisis in science. The crisis as effect is explained by existence of the global cause: the crisis is a collateral and inevitable result of inductive method of knowledge of the Nature.

Keywords: philosophy of science, logic, special relativity, quantum mechanics, quantum statistical physics, thermodynamics.
