Static energy is stored energy or potential energy. An example of Static energy is a ball resting at the top of a hill. The stored energy in the ball is the energy it took to move the ball to the top of the hill from the bottom. If the ball starts to roll down the hill it gives up its static, or potential energy and it becomes kentetic energy. I hope this helps.
