A cannon sits near a castle and is aimed away from the castle at an angle above the horizontal.
Find the equation for the time for the cannonball to hit the level ground below in terms of the hheight of the battlement, the megnitude and direction of the initial velocity and the acceleration due to gravity.

can someone explain or show this to me?

I know that in a projectile motion, x and y are independent.

I have a problem that only tells me that the river is 75 m wide. I am trying to find the MINIMUM initial speed for the rock to get across the river and the time it is in the air.

Can I use the equation: distance= Vot+(1/2)9.8t^2
for an x component (b/c I only know the distance for x) to get time?

I got 3.9 s

Two people carry a heavy electric motor by placing it on a light board of length 1.60 m. One person lifts at one end with a force of 410 N, and the other lifts the opposite end with a force of 630 N.

What is the weight of the motor?

Where along the board is its center of gravity located?
Express your answer as a distance measured from the end where the 410 N force is applied
