Here's the problem: "A motorist is traveling at 18.0 m/s when he sees a deer in the road 38.0 miles ahead. If the maximum negative acceleration of the vehicle is -4.5 m/s, what is the maximum reaction time (delta)t of the motorist that will allow him to avoid hitting the deer?

Now when I do my calculations, I get:
vi = 18.0 m/s
vf = ?
t = ?
a = -4.5 m/s^2
d = 38.0 m

d = vit + 1/2at^2
38.0 = 18t + (-2.25)t^2
2.25t^2 - 18t + 38.0 = 0

Then put into quadratic formula....which gives out a negative root...
So doesn't that mean the driver can't avoid hitting the deer?

B.newton's theory explained electrical attraction at a distance.what kind of electrical phenomena at a distance did it fail to explain?how does the modern explanation you started in part (A) account for this second kind of action at a distance. ADD DETAILS:TO EXPLAIN THE ATTRACTION WHICH A RUBBED ROD OF AMBER EXERTED ON SMALL OBJECTS WHICH WERE SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM IT,ISAAC NEWTON SUGGESTED THAT THERE WAS AN INVISIBLE SUBSTANCE IN THE AMBER WHICH HE CALLED AN ''ELECTRICAL SPIRIT''.WHEN THE ROD WAS RUBBED,THIS ELECTRICAL SPIRIT WAS DISTURBED AND STRETCHED OUT INTO THE AREA AROUND THE ROD.WHEN THE ELECTICAL SPIRIT CONTRACTED AGAIN,IT PULLED WITH IT ANY SMALL OBJECTS THAT HAPPENED TO BE IN ITS PATH.PLEASE ANSWER: A&B

Warning this is a dangerous thing to do, don't attemp the following without understanding the dangers of superheated steam.
It is commonly known water heated a second time in a microwave will heat above boiling point without boiling or until some sort of trigger causes it to boil violently , pure water will heat further above boiling point.
But has anyone ever tried extending this heating beyond the point where water and hydrogen break down? so instead of forming steam it forms a fireball as the hydrogen and oxygen react with each other.

I know all about schrodingers mental excercise, using a cat and a decaying atomic nucleous to describe a paradox in quantum mechanics, etc. But I saw someone wearing a shirt that said, "Schrodingers cat is not dead" and I want to know exactly what that means. Saying the cat is dead means what? Are their people who debate his cat is alive? And then what does that mean? Or is the shirt just used to express that they know about schrodinger/quantum mechanics?

I mean does it touch the ground and thus is absorbed,.. or all that energy turn into light and it happens away,... an example would be I guess if I were to rephrase this with sound, I would ask about why the sound weakens in an echo, where does all that sound go,.......Say in a sealed shut room with no opening why isn"t it that we cant hear an echo repeat and repeat and repeat and so on for ever if it is in a sealed shut room with no openings?

What exactly constitutes the Mind? Thought? Consciousness?
I've read the wikipedia articles on these three subjects and it seems that no answer has been written to it.

Save for the mind. According to Wikipedia "It is possible with modern technology to see which part of the brain is more active during certain thoughts". But this becomes irrelevant when looking at this link

http://content.scholastic.com/browse/article.jsp?id=4824

She lacks certain areas of the brain (a whole half of it)! So if the brain is central in thought, than how come she can still think?

I found no answers to Consciousness or Thought on wikipedia. So anyone with a link please answer.

How is this equation applied, E=mc2? Do you agree that it is simple yet very profound?
Has it been proven true at every level, quantum level, atomic level, molecular level, Newtonian (everyday life) level, and astrophysics level?

A point is located in a polar coordinate system by the coordinates r=2.5m and --this symbol is a zero with a horizontal line through it...I don't know what it means but that equals 35 degrees. Find the x and y coordinates of this point, assuming the two coordinate systems have the same origin.

I don't really know what the question is asking. Please give me an explanation I don't want just the answer.

first I drew an angle with a side that was 2.5m and the angle was 35 degrees...is that right so far..?

okay and then I have no clue of what I have to do after that.

one more question
does anyone know what 10 to the 21st is called. I tried to look it up but I couldn't find anything.

Thanks a lot

My understanding is - the water that had loving thoughts directed towards it resulted in images of pretty, white water molecules looking kinda like snowflakes.
The water that had negative thoughts directed towards it, those images looked dark and murky.

Ok, but what if -
You held loving thoughts towards the water, and I held negative thoughts towards the water. What would the photographed image look like?
Has he done any double blind experiments>
