Youmust already know that time is considered as the 4th dimention. Without time there would be no need for space.
Immagine that we live on the infinite surface of a piece of paper in 2d of space and the 3rd dimention is time as we know it... We would travell in flat geometrical directions...We would have no idea what up and down is. We could travell from point a to point b forever...
Now if God cut the flat universe in two and rolled this flat universe into a cylender-like shape, we would go sideways forever...But when we would head straigh ahead,(or for a long time in an angular or wavy pattern) we would have gone all around the cylender, and find ourselves at square one(where we left).
All the scientists in that universe would interpretate this facinating phenomena with the only variables that exists in that kind of 2d universe.
Itsthe same for us. There are hidden variables that are beyond our grasping!

Things are referred to as 3-D but beyond that it is dimensions, for example 4 dimensional

Two views on the space and time.
==========
1.
There are an independent space and independent time:
We notice it on our planet - Earth.
It is a fhree - dimensional space.
2.
There is simultaneous union of space and time:
It is negative four-dimensional (Minkowski) space.
Herman Minkowski :
“ Henceforth, space by itself, and time by itself,
are doomed to fade away into mere shadows,
and only a kind of union of the two will preserve an independent reality.”
Question.
What is the “a kind of union of the two “?
The answer.
It is Vacuum. T=0K.

ofcourse its the period (time taken by) an object cccupies in the space. Try to describe the dimensions of a moving bus so that I can locate it, and then you can add on and on the dimensions

Quantum physics has it down to 11 dimensions (M theory). With the smaller dimensions coexisting in 3d space.

Google it.

the 4th demention is time so the first 3 are you length width and height...and time is the first three passing through the 4th

there can be infinite dimentions. That is n-d. It depends on number of mirrors used to create the effect.
